Laura was born in a small Irish town of Bray, County Wicklow on 4 May 1985 to an Irish family. Her parents divorced when she was just three years of age, and she lived with her mother. She also has two half-brothers who are now 19 and 22 years in age respectively.  

The TV host, age 33, attended the Dublin City University to study journalism. She also studied at Boston University for one year as a part of her studies abroad.

Laura Whitmore met Scottish comedian/TV personality Ian Stirling at the Children's BAFTA 2017. The pair were introduced by mutual friend, Ore Oduba, winner of Strictly Come Dancing.

After meeting for multiple times, the couple began dating in 2017. Laura and her new boyfriend were particularly private about their relationship. However in August 2017, during talks with The Sun Laura professed the couple were in love and announced Ian as her boyfriend, saying:

In July 2018, Laura and her Scottish partner were seen on a couple of places celebrating their relationship. The couple celebrated their first year anniversary on July 2018 with a PDA filled outing at Wimbledon.

The Irish TV presenter has been giving thoughts on getting married and starting a family after meeting Ian.

The beautiful TV host who has been a part of numerous failed relationships revealed to the Daily Mail that she had been seriously considering to start her family with her boyfriend. She confessed that she had delayed having a husband and children so as to focus solely on her career in a wide-ranging interview with the Mail in February 2018.

Laura revealed that she was in an age(32) where she saw her friends get married and have kids. She further added that now she had found a perfect partner in Ian, she was contemplating starting a family:

'I definitely want a family. At my age now I’m in my early thirties, a lot of my friends are getting married, having kids, some can’t have kids.’

She also detailed how Ian was the perfect partner for her explaining that being from the same industry meant he knew all the baggage that came with the job. 

Having met her perfect partner and, having opened up about wanting a family, Laura could soon be seen in a white gown, walking down the altar to be pronounced husband and wife.
