Fox correspondent Gillian Turner and her entrepreneur husband Alex Kramer have come a long way from their native land Africa to make a living in the United States.

The savvy reporter reportedly came to the US in 2012, right after graduating, and started working as a contributor for Fox News in the following years.

When Turner is not busy reporting the facts at Fox, she often takes a trip around her native land with her husband.

Turner and Her Husband Are Afrikaners

After rising to prominence in the news scene, many queries regarding the reporter's origin started to pop up.

The presently Washington, D.C. based correspondent personally took to Twitter to address the questions. She revealed that her father and her husband Kramer's side of the family were all South African.

In the other tweet, around a month later, the Fox News host also revealed that her father's side of the family were all Capetonians — from Cape Town, to be specific.

While Turner comes from African roots, her husband Kramer is a Capetonian, too. He is the co-founder of Strika Entertainment, which is Africa's largest kids entertainment media company.

Who Is Turner's Husband Kramer?

Kramer is a seasoned design leader and team-builder with over fifteen years of experience in strategy, product discovery and development, and design thinking methodologies.

He moved to the US to join Professional Risk Management Services as a creative executive after successfully launching Strika's flagship product Supa Strikas in major TV channels such as Disney and Nickelodeon. He also sold it to Naspers in 2010.

He is now working full time as the vice president of his own company called Optoro.

On February 12, 2021, Kramer also shared through Twitter that her husband had officially become a USA citizen.

"Some exciting personal news today," she wrote. "My husband officially became a US citizen."

Turner Cannot Get Enough of Capetown

Even though the married couple is busy with their respective calling, they do not let their work interfere with their roots, especially Turner.

The popular TV personality's Instagram is either filled with pictures of the newsroom or from the dear homeland, Cape Town.

With so many pictures of her native city, you’d think that Turner actually works in South Africa and not the U.S. But from what it looks like, the reporter goes on holiday to her hometown every chance she gets.

Turner visited the Lions Head Moutain in Cape Town during her hometown visit was back in May 2018.

She followed up her 2018 summer holiday with another holiday in January 2019. This time, she visited Cape Town's vineyard overlooking the mountains in the backdrop.

The Columbia University alumn enjoyed her time, indulging in horseback riding in the crystal white Noordhoek beach of Cape Town.

In December, the 38-year-old newscaster's friends and family were involved, which transpired in some casual beach stroll with her dad and husband.

That December 2019 visit was the last of Turner's vacation in Cape Town. If she hasn't visited her native city in a while, it is only because of the current scenario.

No matter how much the former The Hill columnist loves Cape Town, it wouldn't be worth putting everyone at risk.
