Later, she graduated in broadcast journalism from Northwestern University with a master’s degree.

She became an IRE finalist for an investigative series, Hurricane Giveaway. The series revealed that millions of dollars in supplies intended for the victims of Hurricane Katrina were embezzled to other government agencies, including prisons.

Abbie married her soulmate on 8 August 2009. Since then, the pair has enjoyed a happy relationship between themselves and their family of four including their son, Calvin, and daughter Clover.
