Russ Mayfield and Paola Mayfield took a leap of faith by partaking in the first season of 90 Day Fiance that aired on January 12, 2014. Their decision culminated in a decade-long bliss; they have been together ever since.

Today, they are one of the most beloved couples of the franchise and the participants of the show's most successful season — all the couples from season 1 are still together.

Mayfield and Paola's love story began when the engineer went to Columbia for work. He met Paola in the foreign land and fell head over heels in love at first sight. 

After returning to the U.S., the pair took part in the first season of 90 Day Fiancé, which provided Paola with a K-1 Visa to join her beau. 

Their love prospered despite cultural differences, and they married within the show's designated 90 days, tying the knot on October 7, 2013.

Sadly, issues surfaced right from day one. Paola didn't want to live with her husband's parents, and the couple moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

To make things worse, Mayfield lost his job as an engineer. And when Paolo tried to earn from modeling gigs, he couldn't approve because of his conservative beliefs.

The differences caused the Columbian native to move out on her own to Miami and spearhead her career in the entertainment industry.

Only later, Mayfield joined his wife in Florida in a Latin community, putting aside his differences.

Their Marriage Is Going Strong

Mayfield and Paola's marriage has undoubtedly treaded choppy waters.

The challenges intensified when they went through a miscarriage around 2017. Thankfully, joyful news of Paola's pregnancy in 2018 eclipsed all tragedy.

They welcomed their son Axel on January 1, 2019.

Since the birth of their son, the parents are heading forward stronger than ever, albeit with regular disagreements.

Their affection for each other has bonded them through ups and downs. And their love is pretty evident on their socials, where they update netizens about their marriage. 

On Paola's birthday, Mayfield put up a vintage picture, one of the first photos of them together, on Instagram. Stating it was taken in Columbia, he expressed he was blessed to have Paola in his life. 

The mother-of-one showed her affection similarly. She Instagrammed a video on Mayfield's birthday on June 25, 2021, and referred to him as her partner in crime. 

The Secret to Their Lasting Marriage

Paola gushed about the secret of her lasting marriage with Mayfield in an interview with US Weekly in April 2021. 

Firstly, she got candid about the challenges in their courtship, revealing she thought of divorce recently. Then she shared how her husband's patience always saved the day. 

She also disclosed that they wanted to raise their son together and not as co-parents, a significant factor that strengthens their marriage.

When not looking after her son, the social media influencer focuses on her budding career as a wrestler.

Trained by South Florida’s wrestler JB Cool, she fought her debut match against Kilynn King in May 2021 and her first team tag match in June 2021.
