From the weird love triangle between his sister, his former partner and himself, to the daughter with his best friend, while he is openly gay, Australian dancer Todd McKenney's personal life is complicated like Daedalus's labyrinth.

The Perth-native is a famous stage actor, dancer, and entertainer mostly known for portraying legendary musician Peter Allen in the musical, The Boy From Oz. He is also one of the judges in the Australian version of Dancing With The Stars.

When his parents separated when he was only 9 years of age, he stayed with his mother and knew very little about his father's side of the family for a long time.

Influenced by his mother, the prodigy dancer trained in jazz, tap, acrobatics and ballroom dancing. He oftentimes credits his mother as the best teacher he has had.

An acrobatic, dancer Todd has a fine-tuned body with the average height.

Todd McKenney Played Peter Allen 766 Times In 2 Years

Although he started his entertainment career at an early age as Percy Penguin on a children’s television show, his big break and probably his most famous work was the role of musician Peter Allen in the Australian production of the musical The Boy From Oz; he performed the role times in around two years from 1998 to 2000.

Although primarily known for musicals, Todd also did a non-musical play, Richard Alfieri’s Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, in the Sydney Opera House.

Todd has also appeared in all of the 15 seasons of the Australian version of Dancing With The Stars as the 'nasty judge', the one with most biting remarks.

Openly Gay But Has Daughter

Although openly gay, Todd has fathered a daughter, Charlotte Wood, with one of his close friends, Anne Wood. Apparently, Anne desperately wanted to be a mother and as a friend, he came forward to help.

I rang her and I said: 'I'm offering to provide you with the other half that you need to have this baby'. Blow me down, she said yes.

Little Charlotte was conceived by IVF, a manual combination of sperms and eggs.

The little girl lives with her mother in Melbourne, and Todd is only an occasional visitor.

Todd's Ex-Partner Is Sister's Husband, How? 

Todd’s personal life quirks are not limited to fathering a daughter in spite of being gay. Todd’s partner of five years, Sam Gallaher, was stolen by his own sister, Lisa. After they separated, Sam started dating Lisa and soon turned into her husband.

Although initially, Todd had no idea about the relationship, he warmed up to the idea of his ex-partner being his sister's husband. And now, is believed to be close to his nieces and nephews.
