For an actor like Daniel Sunjata, falling in love with his on-screen partner or a cast member would not have been that hard — given that he spends a lot of time on the sets with his co-stars. But something that prevents such a scenario is Sunjata's strict rule.

The American actor has a personal rule that restricts romantic involvements with people he works with.

Dating in Work Station Is a 'Huge Nay'

In August 2015, the Notorious actor gave an interview to BuzzFeed where he shed light on his favorite book, song, character and gave his opinion on various topics. Among all the topics, the one that caught quite an attention was his opinion on dating in the workplace.

As the interviewer asked if dating was a yay or nay for him, he bluntly replied that dating at a place of work was a "huge nay."

He elaborated on his answer and stated that he had a personal rule to date no one from work. The Tony nominee also mentioned he made the rule when he was in a grad school at New York University and had stuck by the rule henceforth.

Clarifying why he made the rule in the first place, the Illinois native asserted that if the dating went south with a co-star, it would affect the entire environment.

His answer clarified that no matter what happened, he wouldn't want his personal and emotional connection to hamper his professional endeavors.

He Dispelled Gay Rumors

Sunjata prefers to keep his private life just that — private. Perhaps because of his approach to keep his relationship details away from the media, the Manifest actor has often been speculated to be gay.

And the fact he portrayed a gay character, Darren Lemming, in Richard Greenberg's play, Take Me Out at the Donmar Warehouse only added fuel to the gossip.

Thankfully, the 49-year-old cleared the air while talking about his gay character with The New York Times. He stated he was straight but had no qualms in portraying a character different than his real-life personality. He mentioned he wanted to bring about more tolerance for such subject matters.

I'm somebody who, although he happens to be straight, has no qualms about portraying a character who follows an alternative lifestyle

Was Linked With Rosalba Sierra

The Stand star keeps his personal life discreet now. But back in 2006, he was romantically linked with Rosalba Sierra. The pair sparked dating rumors when they were spotted shopping in SoHo, New York on August 8, 2006.

A year later, they attended the cocktail party for Dani Shapiro's new book 'Black and White' on April 4, 2007. The pair were even together in 2008. They were spotted shopping and strolling in New York City.

But since 2008, their public appearance ceased, and the speculations of their relationship faded away.

Despite all the buzz, Sunjata never mentioned Sierra in neither his interviews nor his social media posts. He didn't comment on the matter and never affirmed they were dating.
