Arrow star Stephen Amell has been married to his actress wife Cassandra Jean Amell for almost nine years. During their time together, they have exchanged vows twice and welcomed a baby daughter.

Here’s Stephen and Cassandra’s relationship timeline.

Married During A Vacation

Stephen first met Cassandra in 2011, a year after his divorce with his first wife, Carolyn Lawrence, with whom he had tied the knot on December 8, 2007.

After their initial meeting, the Arrow actor and Cassandra kept their romance low key.

News of their marriage broke in January 2013 when US Magazine confirmed the two had tied the knot on Christmas day during their vacation to the Caribbean. A friend officiated at their wedding ceremony.

Stephen and Cassandra tied the knot for a second time in May 2013 in front of their friends and family in New Orleans.

Announced They Were Expecting A Baby

Just weeks after their second wedding, the actor couple confirmed they were expecting their first child. They welcomed their daughter, Mavi Alexandra Jean Amell, on October 15, 2013.

It is unclear if they plan on having more children in the future.

Alleged Rocky Relationship

A social media account named Fake Marriage claimed Stephen’s relationship with his wife was “over and fake” in July 2016.

The account posted several screenshots of people criticizing Cassandra for not putting an effort to help ease the actor’s schedule by traveling with their daughter to see him.

Stephen took to Twitter to respond to the allegations.

You’re an awful person. Please delete your account. Or maybe unfollow me. Or watch Notting Hill. Thanks!

Cassandra’s Appearance On ‘Arrow’

Stephen started playing Oliver Queen a.k.a. Green Arrow in the hugely popular superhero series Arrow in 2012, the same year when he got married. To this day, it remains his biggest role.

After six years of marriage, Cassandra finally joined Arrow in 2018. She guest appeared as the villainous Nora Fries during the show's crossover event. She retained her role as Fries in Supergirl for the same event as well.

It was the first time Stephen and his wife worked together. Since then, they have worked together once again in Speech & Debate, which Stephen starred in and Cassandra directed.

Left ‘Arrow’ For His Family

In March 2019, Stephen opened up about his decision to leave Arrow after eight seasons. He shared he wanted to focus on his family and that his interests had changed.

A large part of this decision is because I’m now a father and a husband and a lot of my life and interests don’t really reside in Vancouver anymore and thinking that’s the best thing for me professionally and personally.

Stephen later revealed that he had been struggling with the end of the show. He further added that he needed a break from everything except his family.

Drunken Altercation

Stephen and Cassandra recently received attention for their drunken altercation on a Delta fight in June 2021. Several outlets reported Stephen was escorted off the plane and the actor took to Twitter to respond to them.

Stephen admitted to getting into an argument with his wife but denied being forcibly removed from the flight.
