Big Brother stars Memphis Garrett and Christmas Abbott are engaged. Memphis popped the question to Abbott on June 23 while vacationing in Florida at Little Palm Island Resort and Spa.

Abbott, who was previously engaged twice, expressed her happiness and surprise at the proposal when talking to E!

I was 100 percent surprised! He’s so great at making me feel like I’m the most special person in the world every day, and this day was the most of all. I had no idea it was going to happen then.

Abbott added it seemed obvious in retrospect, but she hadn’t even thought of the possibility because Garrett did special things for her every day. The pair met in 2020 while competing in the 22nd season of Big Brother, also known as Big Brother: All-Stars.

When they first joined the show, both Abbott and Garrett were in different relationships. However, it didn’t take long for both of them to realize that the other was the correct partner for them, even though neither of the two were looking for a relationship through the show.

Garrett said he felt a cosmic attraction to Abbott before he even met her. Spending three months filming together for Big Brother: All-Stars made him sure she was the one he would spend the rest of his life with. Abbott also opened up about how their relationship progressed.

I really didn’t think that it would happen for me. I wasn’t looking for a relationship, I was there to WIN... Memphis and I got to know each other through real conversations, building trust with each other and not starting with physical connection. That’s a rare thing.

Christmas Abbott Has Been Engaged Twice Before

Abbott’s engagement with Garrett is her third. According to Blastingnews, two of her previous engagements had ended in failure. Her first engagement was with Josh Holmes. It ended a year before she announced her second engagement to Geoff Kercher on October 10, 2016, in The Barbell Spin.

Abbott and Kercher were set to tie the knot on September 3, 2017, in Raleigh, North Carolina. The wedding date was close to the Big Brother season 19 finale, which was on September 20.

Many were wondering if the wedding was postponed and it was only revealed later that she and Kercher had broken up before she entered Big Brother season 19. No details on why the two split has ever surfaced.
