After over three years of being apparently single, Chris Rock’s ex wife Malaak Compton surprised the world with a new boyfriend. 

The active social worker took to Instagram this New Year’s Day to introduce her new beau to the world. The post featured the beautiful couple in each other’s embrace while the caption spread New Year’s Day wishes. 

Compton Found Love Again

The New Year’s Day photo was teeming with love, yes, but we only got the confirmation from Compton about a week later. 

On January 9, the mother of three took to Instagram yet again to flaunt her handsome partner. This time on the occasion of his birthday. For the skeptics who were not convinced by the New Year’s Day post, this one was the real deal. 

The caption started with, “Happy birthday to my love. Sweet, kind, loving, romantic, adventurous, fun-loving, inquisitive, giving and spiritual,” and sang praises about the handsome 60-year-old.

Been Together for Almost Three Years

The series of nine pictures that made up the birthday post featured the couple’s journey so far. And contrary to a few media reports, the post suggested that Compton has been in a relationship for almost three years as of this writing.

Apart from the variety of events covered in the snaps, the caption announced they had been traveling the world for the last two-and-a-half years. 

Been around the world and back in two-and-a-half years. Looking forward to more wonderful adventures! And sweetheart 60 never looked so good! Love you! 

All that being said, Compton is yet to reveal the name of her mystery beau. 

Rock Has Been Busy Too

As for the comic, he has been busy making his own headlines. In an October 2020 report from People, Rock was seen going out for lunch with actress Carmen Ejogo. 

The report further elaborated that the lunch date was not their first time going out together. The couple had previously been spotted on a dinner date in New York City’s West Village in late September 2020.

According to Dailymail, he also dated actress Megalyn Echikunwoke for four years before parting ways in March 2020. 

Rocks Cheated on Compton

Compton separated from her ex-husband Rock after twenty years of marriage. The stand-up artist admittedly cheated on Compton on multiple counts. 

The couple first met at the Essence Awards on April 26, 1996, and took their vows the same year. It was Rock who filed for divorce from Compton in December 2014 and finalized the case two years later. 

The former couple also shared share two biological daughters: Lola and Zahra. Apart from that, they had also adopted a South African child, Ntombi, in 2008.
