Kressley's Relationship with Ex-Partner Esera Tavai Tuaolo

The 51-year-old fashion guru spilled the beans about his personal life when he disclosed that he had previously been in a relationship with American professional football player Esera Tavai Tuaolo in March 2016.

Tavai, nicknamed Mr. Aloha, was a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for ten years who opened about sexuality in 2002 after he retired from the NFL.

Speaking with Bravo TV, Kressley confessed that dating a footballer was ‘pretty sexy.’ He further added that the two had a couple of dates and that it wasn’t a long romance, but he wouldn't have minded marrying him.

He didn't mention why they broke up, but it's safe to assume that they parted ways on good terms as they are still friends

He Is Currently Single

After the split news with Esera, Kressley hasn't been romantically involved with anyone and is busy covering everything from his shows to upcoming projects.

Therefore, the fashionista is presently single, according to The Sun — and if he does get married to a husband or find a boyfriend, he probably won’t hesitate to announce that to the public.

Kressley Coming Out as Gay Moment

Even though Kressley has been open about his sexuality to the public from the very beginning, his parents were the last people he told about it.

He saved the coming out to his parents just days before the premiere of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy in 2003.

He was driving with his mother when he revealed the show’s title. His mother was cool about it and guessed that he was not "the straight guy."

It was not any news flash at his home because his family had already predicted it.

Talking to journalist Steve Price on Jungle Radio, Kressley shared that instance, explaining, "I told them I was doing this new show and they were like 'What's it called?' I'm like, 'It doesn't have a name yet, it's the untitled makeover show.'"

After that, he said:

I said, "The show that I'm doing is called Queer Eye for the Straight Guy". She said, "Let me guess, you're not the straight guy? Yeah. We kind of knew". It was not a big news flash at my house.
