What Happened to ‘The Girls Next Door’? Catching up with the Cast
The Girls Next Door was on air well over a decade ago and was one of the many reality shows rooted in Hugh Hefner's Playboy mansion.
The reality show lasted for six whole seasons spanning 2005 to 2009 and was fans' insider to the seemingly ecstatic life of Hefner and his girlfriends at the time.
For the bulk of the show, the central figures were girlfriends Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and Kendra Wilkinson.
However, they were replaced by his new playmates Crystal Harris and twins Kristina Shannon and Karissa Shannon as the show's lead cast in season 6.
So, what happened to The Girls Next Door? Where are they now?
Since the show was last aired, the original cast members broke off and parted ways. Madison and Wilkinson had a public feud even. So let's catch up on what they're up to now.
Holly Madison
Fresh off The Girls Next Door, Madison got herself a spinoff series on E!, by the name of Holly's World. The show aired for two seasons starting in 2009, as reported by Us Weekly.
She has since authored two memoirs: 2015's Down the Rabbit Hole and 2016's The Vegas Diaries.
Madison has lived her life mostly in the public sphere as she has been on a couple of reality shows, including Dancing With the Stars on their eighth season in 2009 and a burlesque show at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood, titled Peepshow, from 2009 to 2012.
The next year, she married Pasquale Rotella and gave birth to two children: daughter Rainbow and son Forest. She got divorced from Rotella in 2019.
Bridget Marquardt
Following her time at The Girls Next Door, Marquardt was seen hosting another reality TV show, Bridget’s Sexiest Beaches in 2009 for one season.
After serving as a contributor to Yahoo! Animal Nation, she started a podcast show of her own: Ghost Magnet With Bridget Marquardt, in 2019.
On the romantic side, she began dating director Nick Carpenter in 2009 and got engaged in 2015. However, they have yet to ring wedding bells.
Kendra Wilkinson
Much like Madison, Wilkinson got herself a reality show deal with E!. She was the face of Kendra from 2009 to 2011.
The show eventually led to her landing another reality show on WE TV, Kendra on Top, which lasted six seasons.
She also appeared on a few other reality shows like Celebrity Wife Swap and Dancing With the Stars and scripted shows like The Mindy Project and a cameo in Scary Movie 5.
She married Hank Baskett in 2009, following which she authored two books, Sliding Into Home in 2010 and Being Kendra in 2011.
Wilkinson became a mother for the first time when they welcomed a son in 2009 and once again when she birthed daughter Alijah in 2014.
Crystal Hefner
Crystal is perhaps the girlfriend that spent the most time in the mansion after the show ended, given that she married Hefner in 2012 and was by his side when the Playboy kicked the bucket after he succumbed to sepsis at age 91.

After the series, she leveraged her celebrity status to co-design a swimwear collection for Veve Glamor Swimwear in 2012.
She also worked alongside Rhonda Shear to co-design a collection that featured intimates, athleisure, and loungewear.
She has found love again with boyfriend Nathan Levi, whom she started dating sometime around July 2020. The couple usually flaunts their picture-perfect relationship on Instagram.
Kristina and Karissa Shannon
The Shannon twins followed their time on The Girls Next Door with a few other reality TV stints, including Celebrity Big Brother and Rob & Chyna.
The two have also dabbled with the adult film industry.
As of late, the twins run GLAM Beverly Hills Salon together.
