Social media can be an unforgiving place sometimes.

While individuals have the freedom to post any kind of content they want on their accounts, that does not mean that they do not get in deep trouble sometimes.

There are cases of it all the time, but recently an incident involving a teacher made headlines.

Who Is Viktoria Kashirina?

Viktoria Kashirina, a Russian teacher, claimed she was dismissed from her job when a risqué video of hers went viral on social media.

The clip, which has since been deleted, featured Kashirina stripping down to lingerie and dancing provocatively as she writhed on a bed.

Kashirina, who recently graduated from college, was teaching language and literature at School No. 1, a private online academy based in Moscow.

Unfortunately, her saucy content spread like wildfire and ended up being viewed by the wrong people, including the parents of her students.

One of the student’s mothers who had seen the video complained to the teacher and asked her not to post such explicit content as her daughter had watched it and demanded she close her account.

“My daughter watches this and you are clearly gaining kudos — but not as a teacher.” she said.

The educator told local news outlet Komsomolskaya Pravda that she had been “pole dancing for several years and dreamed of making a video for a long time.”

However, she iterated that the video was not meant for her students.

So she refused to give in to the mother’s demands and instead blocked both the daughter and her mother.

But it did not help matters, as the following day, she got contacted by the school director who demanded she remove her video.

The director also told her she was “fired,” but she has received no notice and is still teaching her online classes.

But Kashirina, who claimed she had done nothing wrong or broken any rules on her employment contract, vowed to go to court if her dismissal was confirmed.

She explained that there were no restrictions on the use of social media when she got the job.

Viktoria Kashirina Received Hate

Kashirina also revealed that she has been a victim of online harassment ever since her situation garnered attention.

She told Komsomolskaya Pravda that the attacks by haters scared her.

Anonymous accounts had threatened and insulted her on social media, which forced her to change her usernames on social media platforms.

But that wasn’t the end. People took her photos and made a fake OnlyFans account under her name. She confirmed to the news outlet that she had never created such an account and was baffled when she found out about it.

She iterated that she wanted to “go into the shadows and return to teaching.”

However, some people supported her, such as the director of the Novosibirsk City Open College, Sergei Chernyshev.

He said that the teacher had done no wrong and that firing her would be unfair. The director even offered to hire Kashirina.

So far, it is unconfirmed if Kashirina has been fired or not.
