From Home Improvement’s Tim ‘The Tool Man’ Taylor to Last Man Standing’s Mike Baxter, Tim Allen has played two of America’s most lovable on-screen family men for years.

Fans loved his chemistry with his on-screen wives — Patricia Richardson from Home Improvement and Nancy Travis from Last Man Standing.

It wasn’t hard for him to emulate his endearing characters on TV because of his fairytale marriage to his wife, Jane Hajduk.

The couple has been married for almost 16 years, and they still look very much in love.

But before Allen could find his happily ever after with his wife, he had to go through a failed relationship first.

Before tying the knot with his Hajduk, he was married to his college sweetheart, Laura Deibel, in 1984.

In 1989, the couple gave birth to their oldest daughter, Katherine Allen.

Their marriage was not smooth sailing and was riddled with Allen’s run-ins with the law.

He was arrested for drug trafficking and DUI and suffered from alcoholism.

But Deibel stuck by his side through it all until she could not take it anymore and filed for divorce in 1999.

Who Is Tim Allen Married To?

After the divorce, Allen began dating his actress wife in 2001.

The actress appeared with the Last Man Standing star in two movies: the family-superhero movie Zoom and the comedy The Shaggy Dog.

In 2006, they married in an intimate ceremony in Grand Lake, Colorado.

The only guests at the intimate were the couple’s family and Allen’s oldest daughter, who was 17 at the time.

In 2017, Allen opened up to Closer Weekly about his second marriage and what made it work.

He iterated that all the mistakes he had made from his first marriage helped him prepare for his relationship with Hajduk.

“I’m not the same guy I was the first time [I was married] when I was hiding and doing what people who drink too much do,” said the actor.

Because of his bad habits, he was not present for Deibel, which caused a rift.

But he revealed that was no longer the case, as he was much more present and had been sober for almost 20 years.

Tim Allen’s Wife and Kids

Allen and Hadjuk had one more daughter, Elizabeth, whom they welcomed in 2009.

According to Closer Weekly, the actor recalled his second child’s birth to People.

“[Jane] did all the work, but she allowed me to be there, and I was able to physically help her on the backside,” he shared.

He added that her oldest daughter was also there with her friends, and he was the first to see his second kid.

As a comedian, the actor tries his best to make his kids laugh, but he only gets eye rolls and stares instead of laughter.

“The older one will roll her eyes, and the younger one just stares at me,” the actor added.

But that doesn’t stop the actor from making jokes.

Allen mostly keeps his kids out of the spotlight for privacy, but the family appears as tight-knit as ever.

The actor and his wife with their kids often step out together for red carpet events.
