Tila Tequila started her modeling career in the early 2000s and soon grew to be the person with the biggest presence on social media.

She joined MySpace in 2003 and in the following years, became the person with the most friends in the social networking service.

By 2006, Tequila had amassed over 1.5 million friends on MySpace, and Time Magazine referred to her as the “queen of the massive social-networking website MySpace.”

Aside from her social media presence, Tequila was also known for her modeling and music career.

Her 2007 reality show, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, also enjoyed great success and gave her career a boost.

Before diving into where she is today and what she's now keeping herself occupied with, let's talk a bit about her past.

Tila Tequila's Past

On December 9, 2009, Tequila shared she was engaged to Casey Johnson.

The two had only gone on a single date before Johnson proposed to Tequila with a 17-carat diamond ring.

Now, at that point, both Tequila’s professional and personal life seemed to be going well. But it wouldn’t stay that way for long.

On January 4, 2010, the news of Johnson’s passing made headlines.

While many speculated that the cause of her death had something to do with drugs, investigations revealed she passed away because of complications resulting from diabetes.

Following Johnson’s death, Tequila’s life also took a turn for the worse.

She attempted to take her own life and later blamed it on dissociative identity disorder. Various rumors of her substance abuse and psychological issues also surfaced.

In 2012, TMZ reported Tequila had agreed to enter rehab after a suicide scare.

Tila Tequila Today?

After her various suicide attempts, Tequila gradually receded from the spotlight. She joined the sixteenth season of Celebrity Big Brother as one of the contestants in August 2015.

However, her time with the show was short as she was removed from the house in less than a day after viewers complained about her anti-semitic comments from 2013.

In 2017, she started posting spiritual content on her YouTube channel, Tila Win Christ.

However, even her evangelist content invited much controversy. She posted several videos where she claimed she was God.

Now, this obviously had many of her fans expressing worries about her mental health. However, Tequila continued being the subject of one controversy after another.

In November 2020, she posted a video titled, “I WAS ABOUT TO BAPTIZE 2 KIDS & THE DEVIL KIDNAPPED THEM!-Mark 9:42.”

In the video, she is trying to baptize two of her neighborhood kids in a bathtub, but the kids’ grandmother comes to take them away.

Much of the video is Tequila and the kids’ grandmother arguing.

Tequila once again made another controversial video in July 2021 when she made a racist comment about Black women.

She has also uploaded other concerning videos in her YouTube channel, which has now been renamed to The King's Wife (Formerly Tila).
