Steven Pasquale Promises to Make It up to Wife Phillipa Soo
Steven Pasquale and Phillipa Soo tied the knot in September 2017.
The couple had an intimate, low-key wedding attended by their closest families and friends, a much different affair from the extravagant star-studded nuptials.
Pasquale and Soo met in 2014 in New York, where the former was starring in the stage production of The Bridges of Madison County.
He was introduced to his wife, who was rehearsing Hamilton, by one of her castmates, Jonathan Groff.
The duo fell in love, and in February 2016, they announced their engagement via Instagram,
Alongside a photo in which the actress was flaunting her ring, Soo wrote, “We’re engaged! In love with this man. I will enjoy spicy noodle soup with him for the rest of my days.”
And over a year later, they walked down the aisle.
Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson was the first to break the news of the wedding on Instagram with a photo of the newlyweds.

Since getting married, the couple has enjoyed spending time together, often documented on Pasquale’s Instagram.
But in September 2019, the Rescue Me actor opened up on Instagram about the time their marriage was tested.
Steven Pasquale and Phillipa Soo in Sickness and Health
Pasquale uploaded a causal photo of his wife, and in the caption, he promised to make it up to his wife.
It appears the actor was diagnosed with Lyme disease and debilitating back pain after their marriage. He recalled he was curled up on the floor “literally, for months.”
Pasquale could do nothing which destroyed his spirit.
He explained that his wife, whom he lovingly called Pippa, was not deterred by the ordeal and was there for him completely.

“Unlimited kindness, patience, love, and positivity, every hour of every day. For a year and a half. I had so little to offer her. And she just kept it coming,” wrote the actor.
He added almost two years later, he finally took a turn for the better and promised that he would make it up to his devoted wife.
The Good Wife star concluded the post by thanking Soo and wishing her a happy anniversary.
And it seems Pasquale was not the one only blown away by his wife’s kindness and strength.
Steven Pasquale’s Relationship before Phillipa Soo
Fans in the comments section commended the Hamilton actress and iterated that Pasquale had finally found the one.
He had to go through a divorce before finding his happiness with Soo.
He was previously married to Laura Benanti, who starred as Eliza Doolittle in the My Fair Lady Broadway revival.
The two originally met in 2005 while working on the musical, The Secret Garden.
At the time, the actress was going through a divorce from Spin Doctors’ lead singer Chris Barron.
She noticed the handsome actor, but that was it.
But it wasn’t until a few months later when Benanti and Pasquale were working on different projects, that they went on their first date.
Romance blossomed, and two years later, in 2017, the couple married, and the Broadway actress moved to Los Angeles.
Unfortunately, their marriage did not last, and in 2013, they announced their divorce.
The couple shared their split was amicable, and they would remain friends.
