Inside Samantha Cope and Joey Lawrence’s Intimate Wedding Ceremony
Congratulations are in order for Samantha Cope and Joey Lawrence!
After a year of being engaged, the duo finally married and had their dream wedding in a romantic outdoor ceremony at Temecula Creek Inn in Temecula, California, on May 1, 2022.
They got engaged in August 2021 after meeting in 2020 on the set of the Lifetime film My Husband’s Secret Brother, directed by the groom’s brother, Andrew Lawrence.
“So we met there and out of nowhere, you know, it was a crazy year and a half for everybody. Then when you least expect [it,] amazing things happen and meeting her has just been really the greatest thing ever,” said Lawrence.
He added Cope was his best friend, and they had so much in common.

Lawrence also told People everything felt right with his wife.
He also added even though life could be challenging at times, God made it worth it when he brought him and his wife together.
Samantha Cope and Joey Lawrence's Wedding
The couple’s close friends and family — including the groom’s brothers and his two daughters, Charleston and Liberty Lawrence were present at the ceremony planned by Heather Christian Folger of HCD Weddings and Events.
Lawrence wore a cream suit by ASOS paired with white converse sneakers, while Cope wore a Wtoo by Watters tulle gown with a plunging neckline.
After their wedding nuptials, guests gathered for a cocktail hour and were treated to a farm-to-table dinner of filet, mahi mahi, and roasted chicken.
A few days before their wedding, the newly married couple opened up to People about their relationship and how they knew they were meant to be together.
“From day one, it was such a safe place to be me. He loves everything about me and celebrates all those weird quirks about me. I was so blessed to receive that. Two weeks in, I was like, ‘I will be with you forever,’” said the actress.
Meanwhile, her husband noted that meeting like-minded people who had the same love language and communicated the same way was important.
Luckily for Lawrence, he found all of that in Cope, reiterating that when people met the right person, it cut to the chase quickly.
Joey Lawrence's Third Time Down the Aisle
While this is the first marriage for Cope, it is the third for Lawrence.
Lawrence first married Michelle Vella in 2002, and they divorced in 2005.
After that, he married his second wife, Chandie Yawn-Nelson, in July 2005.
The couple first met while on vacation at Disney World as teenagers but reconnected a decade later, eventually getting married.
They welcomed two daughters, and parted ways in July 2020, after 15 years of marriage.
Lawrence noted “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their divorce, saying it was just two people who weren’t right for each other and fell out of love.
Following the split, the former couple shared they were co-parenting amicably. The Dancing With the Stars alum explained that not getting along while raising their children together was “unacceptable,” adding it was unfair to the kids.
