Rosario Dawson and Cory Booker have supposedly called off their romance, as a source close to the New Jersey lawmaker suggested that the two have split. 

Dawson and Booker had been gracing red carpet events and fundraisers for just about two years after their then-secret romance was outed when they were seen traveling together.

A source close to Booker opened up to People just recently about how he and his longtime girlfriend Dawson had split, announcing an end to their relationship of well over two years.

The source added that although they had split as partners, they still maintained an amicable relationship.

The outlet reported no official word had been received from either end regarding the split. One of Booker's representatives said that there were no comments to be made in that regard. 

On the other hand, the representative from Dawson did not even respond to the request for an official statement. 

About Rosario Dawson & Cory Booker's Romance

Dawson first met the presidential candidate at a time when they were both attendees at a political fundraiser for a mutual friend in the summer of 2018. 

The romance was not instant, though. The duo lived their own lives for a couple of months before finally reconnecting.

That being said, Booker confessed to The Washington Post in 2019 that the night they met was one to remember. He added they talked for hours on end. 

Still, Booker had a tough time asking for her phone number. 

"I think I said something really stupid like, 'Uh, how would I get in touch with you?'" he recalled. "And she mercifully said something like, 'Oh, you want my phone number?'"

"And my insides were like, 'Hell, yeah!'"

As for his girlfriend, she found him to be charming, confident, and confident, with full consideration for their lazy start that ended up in a relationship. She later added,

What wins me over with him is definitely the dad jokes.

Rosario Dawson & Cory Booker Kept Relationship Private

In the early days of their relationship, the couple kept things hush-hush. They only admitted to the relationship when TMZ caught them at a Washington D.C. airport. 

"So far so wonderful," she said at the time of her romance with the then-presidential candidate. "He's a wonderful human being. It's good to spend some time together when we can."

By May 2020, when Booker was running his campaign to be the Democratic presidential nominee, the couple had moved into his Newark, New Jersey residence. 

Rosario Dawson Has a Daughter

In their years together, the couple didn't have any children of their own. Still, the girlfriend has a daughter whom she had adopted many years before she even met the boyfriend. 

While we're on the subject, for many years, many outlets referred to Dawson's daughter as Lola, when, in fact, her real name was Isabella. 

The confusion was so widespread that Dawson had to go out of her way and clarify that her daughter was Isabella and not Lola. 

During an appearance on Parents Magazine's We Are Family podcast, she revealed she didn't do a press release when she first adopted her daughter.

"I don't know where it came from, but somebody decided that her name was Lola and then everyone just kept running with it," she admitted. 

Then again, she didn't feel the need to correct everyone on that front because she didn't want her daughter's name floating around in the public sphere.
