Peter Porte has starred in many films and hit television series, including Cold Case, CSI: Miami, Medium, The New Normal, and Parks and Recreation.

The actor graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Acting. He then furthered his education in Paris, Hong Kong, and London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).

After that, he toured with the Broadway National Touring Company of Mamma Mia! and eventually moved to Los Angeles.

In 2011, he joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as a series regular, playing the role of Ricky Williams. Following his run on the series, Porte landed recurring roles in Devious Maids, which ran for four seasons on Lifetime, and Baby Daddy, which ran for six seasons.

He also starred in the Hallmark Channel original movies Love, Once and Always, A Gift to Remember, Love at the Shore, and Rome in Love and made appearances in CBS’ Mom, NCIS: LA, and Fox’s New Girl.

But despite being such an acclaimed actor, Porte rarely talks about his life behind the camera. If you have been following the actor, you would know that he is gay and already married to Jacob Jules Villere.

Here is a breakdown of Porte’s marriage.

Peter Porte and His Husband

Although it is unconfirmed when the actor got married to his spouse, on July 1, 2018, Porte posted a series of snaps with the caption, “Laissez les bon temps rouler,” which translated to “let the good times roll.” The comment section of the post was flooded with congratulatory messages.

It appears the photos were from his wedding celebrations, but nothing is for sure.

The actor is private about his relationship with his husband, and even when he shares photos of him on his Instagram, he does not reveal much. However, the duo seems to love traveling, and according to the posts, they have been to many places.

On January 5, 2021, Porte uploaded a photo of him and his husband on a yacht at Marina del Rey, California, and revealed in the caption that they were certified sailors. In another photo, the duo was skiing in Aspen, Colorado.

According to several reports, Villere is a corporate banker.

Peter Porte on LGBTQ Representation

The actor might be private about his personal life, but he is big on LGBTQ representation.

In December last year, Porte starred in the romantic holiday movie, Dashing in December opposite Juan Pablo Di Pace. In an interview with GLAAD, Porte spoke about what it meant to him as a queer man to finally tell a gay love story in this genre.

He explained that there were not many inclusive stories growing up, and neither were there any movies that he could relate to, which led him to accept that Christmas movies were about “pretty white heterosexual people.”

He added that he was excited about offering a different viewpoint of classic Christmas stories for young queer kids.
