Monica Bellucci has been the face of luxury brands for what feels like eons. And now, her daughter, Deva Cassel, has made her way into the modeling scene, possibly to breathe new life into her mother's legacy.

Bellucci is a mother to two stunningly beautiful daughters born from her marriage to European actor Vincent Cassel. Deva is the elder of the two and was born on December 12, 2004. Her sister, Léone Cassel, was born on May 21, 2010.

While Léone might join the women of the family in the fashion scene, the supermodel-prospect central to this piece is Deva.

Deva Cassel: The Face of Dolce & Gabbana

At only 15 years of age, Deva was making headlines for being an ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana as the muse for their new feminine fragrance. While this was her first time being the face of the Italian brand, she invoked a feeling of familiarity.

Perhaps it was because her mother had been the muse of the label for so long. But to say that she was, at the very least, comparable to her mother speaks volumes in itself.

L'Official credited her long wavy brown hair and her beautiful clear eyes, amongst other features, as the reason why the label chose to bring the second generation Bellucci into the fold, and very few could refute that line of reasoning.

Monica Bellucci Is Charting the Path for Her Daughter's Modelling Career

Understandably, being the face of such an influential brand opened quite a few doors for Deva as a supermodel-prospect. However, Bellucci has been pivotal in charting the best path for her daughter.

Bellucci explained to Le Monde (via L'Official) that this was just a campaign that Deva fronted because she wanted to. She further added,

It's only a campaign. She goes to school. She wanted to try this experience that was offered to her. I think she wanted to prove to herself that she could enter the world of work, that she had the ability to grow with adults, and that she was able to manage all of this.

Bellucci affirmed that her daughter wanted to continue her education whilst making the best of all the difficulties and beauties of being a teenager.

Regardless, since being the face of Dolce & Gabbana in February 2020, Deva has graced the covers of quite a few reputed publications, including Elle France, Harper's Bazaar España, Harper's Bazaar Mexico, and Vogue Italia. In most of them, she has been featured more than once.

Monica Bellucci Wanted Her Daughter to be Independent

In an exclusive interview with Italy News 24 during their 2021 Hasselblad photoshoot, Bellucci explained that Deva was looking forward to sharing a frame with her mother.

Deva's line of reasoning was that the last time that the two of them were pictured together was when she was still inside her mama's belly.

"Now that I'm starting my journey, Mom, I want it to happen again," Deva apparently told her mother.

For Bellucci, however, it meant something else. Bellucci outed that she wanted her daughter to breathe in the air of independence, and perhaps go beyond the image of the magnificently stunning Monica Bellucci.
