Melissa Claire Egan Has Had a Rough Road to Parenthood with Husband Matt Katrosar

Melissa Claire Egan and her husband Matt Katrosar welcomed a beautiful baby boy—their first child—back in August 2021 and were rightfully overjoyed. They named him Caden Robert Katrosar.

Little Caden was born healthy, weighing seven pounds and seven ounces at 20 inches tall. Although the family was grateful to welcome its newest member, they had to traverse a decisively tough road to get here.

The Young and Restless star and her husband Matt got in touch with People to announce the arrival of their sweet little angel. At the time, the couple assured, 

Everyone is healthy and doing well, we're so grateful for all the love and well wishes along our journey to get here. We're awestruck by this little man and can't believe he's ours.

The couple also extended their heartfelt gratitude to all the fantastic doctors and nurses at Cedars Sinai for taking good care of the new mother and their child. 

Egan then joked about how this birth was "a breeze," when contrasted to the on-screen children she had birthed on The Young and the Restless—one in a lake cabin and another at her wedding, wearing a wedding dress.

Melissa Claire Egan and Husband Had a Tough Road to Parenthood 

Egan announced she was pregnant on April 7, 2021, via an Instagram post. The post came with a fantastic picture of the new mother holding her baby bump proudly. Posing with the open sea as her backdrop, she smiled at the camera while the rays of the sun gently kissed her face. 

The snap was radiating the happiness the then soon-to-be mother felt, an emotion conveyed via the caption. She was excited to share that her baby boy was set to arrive in late August. 

The couple's seemingly boundless joy was exaggerated by the fact that they had to withstand quite a few hurdles to get their family together. Egan shared, 

As happy as we are, the journey to get here has been filled with lots of tears, stress, sadness, helplessness, hopelessness, and 2 miscarriages.

Egan also shared a few loving words with other couples who were experiencing problems having kids. She let them know they were not alone in their struggles.

She expressed a desire to jump through the phone and hug all those people in person and motivated them not to give up hope, to keep trusting the process, and have faith. 

Egan and her husband's wedding was back in 2014, and she makes it a point to celebrate their relationship every chance she gets. 

On his birthday in May, she thanked God for the day her husband was born and sang praises of him via an endearing Instagram post. Apparently, Matt always puts a smile on everyone's face, and he always smells "really really good." 

Of course, the birthday message would have been incomplete without Egan telling her beau how much she loved him.
