Freeman and Rachel Mariam, a French actress, seem to have first met in 2020 amidst all the chaos in the world. The rumors of their dating life initially popped up in mid-2020.

They are not a shy couple by any means. Freeman and Mariam have been spotted together multiple times in public, evidently not trying to hide their relationship.

The couple is usually out on strolls together. Mostly, it's in casual attire. But sometimes, they're out to make a statement, like in January 2022.

On January 29, 2022, Freeman and his girlfriend took to the streets of Hampstead, London, in bold fashion choices.

The Sherlock actor wore a £350 bold orange, blue, and beige parka by Albam. And to complement the top, he wore blue jeans and brown suede shoes.

Mariam was right there with her boyfriend, complimenting his look with her chic red coat and bold trainers. Both of them wore designer sunglasses to top off their looks.

Freeman is also a regular feature on Mariam's Instagram, evident from many outlets' screenshots of their posts, although there are no posts on her account at the time of this writing.

Even though they were never shy about their dating life, the couple only went official with their relationship in 2021 after attending the Raindance Film Festival Opening Night Gala together.

Going by Mariam's Instagram bio, she is a "kinda French" actress and an "(anxious) writer."

She was also among the top 10% for the 2020 and 2021 Academy Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship and was a finalist at the 2021 PAGE Screenwriting Awards.

According to IMDb, the actress, who was born in Toulouse, France, on June 21, 1992, has six acting credits. Additionally, she also has credits in writing and producing as well as in the casting and music departments. Most of these came through her involvement in Call It a Day.

Martin Freeman's Previous Relationship

Freeman and Abbington shared a romantic relationship for 16 years. They first started going out in 2000.

Freeman became a father to two children during their time together. Their firstborn son, Joe Freeman, was born in 2006. And their daughter, Grace Freeman, came into the world in 2008.

They came to a mutual agreement to go their separate ways in 2016. Abbington has opined in the past that their split might have caused them "irreparable damage."

And Freeman, too, has a bit of a harsh way of parenting. He's admittedly smacked them, even though he knows it's wrong.

But, despite these, both of them are always there for their kids. The former couple encourages their children to talk about their mental health openly.
