Madonna, the Queen of Pop, has criticized Canadian rapper Tory Lanez for the illegal usage of her 1985 song 'Into the Groove.'

She accused that one of Lanez's tracks featured her song, which he used without her permission.

In his recently released new music, the rapper allegedly sampled one of her evergreen songs without her consent.

Madonna Condemned Tory Lanez's Actions

The singer took to her official Instagram account and commented on one of Lanez's Instagram posts claiming he used her work illegally.

In her now-deleted comment, the singer hinted that she initially tried messaging the rapper privately. However, failure to reach him made her speak about the matter in public.

"Read your messages for illegal usage of my song get into the groove!" she wrote in her comment.

According to the songstress, Lanez's new music, 'Pluto's last Comet,' sounded like her 1985 hit single.

She wrote and produced her hit song with Stephen Bray which was initially featured in the 1985 film Desperately Seeking Susan, with Madonna starring in the lead role.

Likewise, Lanez's song in question was written by himself and produced by Orlando tha Great and Chaz Jackson.

'Pluto's last Comet' is included in Lanez's recently released 2021 album, Alone at Prom.

However, it is unclear whether Lanez had read the popular singer's public comment.

According to Billboard, he has been in headlines throughout December due to his courtroom trial on felony assault and gun charges for allegedly shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.

According to BBC, the rapper asked Stallion to dance prior to allegedly shooting at her feet.

Lanez, real name, Daystar Peterson, is accused of shooting the American rapper after a party in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020.

The victim and the defendant got into a heated argument while driving away from the party hosted by Kylie Jenner.

As per the official police story, Stallion wanted to leave the vehicle after their altercation, but Lanez opened fire with a handgun, demanding her to dance.

Stallion told the police she lost a lot of blood from her feet and consequently fell to the ground only to crawl to a nearby driveway.

During the court hearing, it was revealed that Lanez emphatically apologized for his actions and offered her money to keep the matter quiet. 

However, Lanez has denied the assault and gun charges.

Madonna Is Coming with Her New Music

The iconic pop star recently teased her fans that she is back in the studio as work for her 2022 studio album is already in place. Her last album Madama X was released in 2019.

On December 20, 2021, the '4 minutes' hitmaker took to her Instagram and posted a series of images that depicted her inside a recording studio. 

Her social media post was accompanied by a caption of adequate length.

"So great to be back in the studio making Music again," she wrote. Further, she said she would treat her fans to a surprise in the upcoming new year.

Interestingly, in the same writing, the pop icon tagged rapper Swae Lee, vocal producer Lauren Delia, musician Jozzy, hinting at a potential collaboration.

Additionally, the mentioned music makers were seen alongside her in the pictures shared by Madonna.

However, this wouldn't be the first time Madonna and Lee have shared the same recording studio.

Previously, they worked together on her song 'Crave' featured in her 2019 album Madame X.
