Madison Prewett and Grant Troutt Are Engaged after Just Nine Months of Dating

"I have waited for this day my whole life."

That's what Bachelor alum Madison Prewett said of her engagement with her boyfriend Grant Troutt. The couple got engaged on July 31, 2022, after just around nine months of dating.

Troutt apparently left no stone unturned to make the day as special as it could be for Prewett, who did not realize what was going on until the last minute.

Troutt's fable for luring his now fiancée to the engagement site was one about a birthday. He got sick right when they had to leave for Florida with her friends.

So on the day of the engagement, when she got to The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, her best friend told her they were going to take birthday pictures on the beach.

Prewett "had no idea the proposal was coming." So, in her innocence, she started moving to the beach when her best friend led her into the bathroom where her "mom and sisters were with the dress I wanted to get engaged in."

It was only in that moment she realized she was going to get engaged.

Troutt, on the other hand, had planned and re-planned the engagement multiple times. He had set up the beach with white candles and got the "ring of [her] dreams," all in close communication with her side of the family.

After getting dressed up, Prewett walked outside to find Troutt waiting for her to lead her to the beach. He had "candles and flowers and a Bible with [her] new name on it."

The rest was standard procedure — he got down on one knee inside the candle of hearts laid out on the beach and presented her with the perfect diamond ring. She said yes, and that was that.

Their engagement date — July 31, 2022 — is special for reasons more than one. It also marks the completion of eight months since they started dating and falls just days shy of their nine-month anniversary.

Speaking to People magazine afterward, Prewett gushed about her now fiancé.

"He is everything I have prayed for, waited for, and dreamed of my whole life," she said. "He was definitely worth the wait."

Prewett has her fair share of nationally televised romance on ABC's The Bachelor — she was one of the women on Peter Weber's season of the show.

She finished second on the show but had a short-lived fling with Weber after his engagement with the winner of the season, Hannah Ann Sluss, ended.

As for her quickly-progressing romance with Troutt, she wants the engagement to be as short as possible. The couple is already planning for a wedding and even have some ideas.

Prewett said she wanted her wedding to be a representation of their values and beliefs and the best celebration of their love with their close ones around. She also wished her wedding was "chic and classy."
