She has also made recurring appearances on Supergirl, NashvilleThe Good Wife, Law and Order: SVU, Elementary, Nurse JackieEli Stone, and The Big C

Professionally, the actress has earned a name for herself in the entertainment world with all of her outstanding accomplishments.

But, behind all the flash and glory, Benanti is merely a doting mother to her young kid and a loving wife to her spouse, Patrick Brown.

Happily Married for over Five Years

The Supergirl star tied the knot with her partner Brown on November 15, 2015, at Harlem's Riverside Church, New York City.

The intimate ceremony included family members, close friends, and showbiz colleagues including Jesse Tyler Ferguson of Modern Family and Connie Britton of Nashville.

The brunette beauty donned a strapless mermaid gown made with French Aleçon lace exclusively designed by Anne Barge. A scalloped sweetheart neckline, hand-embroidered appliques, a flowing chapel-length train, and a modest wreath headband completed the gorgeous bridal look.

Her spouse, on the other hand, looked dashing in a black suit with a fresh white shirt and black tie.

The Broadway icon confirmed her engagement to Brown in June 2015 by uploading an Instagram snap of her diamond ring.

The actress also shared portraits of her wedding band on the social media platform, announcing her marriage.

The 41-year-old performer was initially apprehensive about posting the pictures of her big day on social media since it was her third time walking down the aisle.

Ultimately, her husband was the one who assured her she was free to be happy and enjoy the moment.

“I never judge you. I never think less of you. I never fault you for your life,” he said to Benanti while proposing to her.

Reminiscing about the moment, she revealed to W magazine in 2016 that while it may not seem like the most romantic thing in the world; it was tremendously romantic for her because she felt seen.

“It wasn’t my first proposal, but it was his,” she added.

Benanti had two long-term relationships in the past. In 2005, she married Chris Barron, the lead vocalist of the Spin Doctors, but they split after only a year.

She married actor Steven Pasquale a year later in 2007, but the couple ended their marriage nearly six years in 2013.

In a statement to Broadway.com in 2013, the couple stated: “After almost six years of marriage, Steven Pasquale and Laura Benanti are amicably filing for divorce. They remain loving and committed friends.”

Parents to a Beautiful Daughter

After two years of getting married, Benanti and Brown welcomed their first child, a daughter, Ella Rose Benanti-Brown, in February 2017.

Ella was born in Mt. Sinai West with the Midwifery of Manhattan in New York City, weighing 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and measuring 22 inches.

The pregnancy was wonderful news for the couple, who had experienced a miscarriage a year before.

Benanti described her daughter as headstrong, like her mother, but also very humorous. “She laughs at her own jokes, much like myself,” she told People in 2019.

“She likes to do things she’s not supposed to do, for sure.”

The actress's greatest part of motherhood is simply watching her kid grow up surrounded by her and her husband's affection.
