K. Michelle rose to fame as the breakout star of VH1's Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. She is known for her no-filter candid personality.

Her openness has made her comfortable exposing her personal life on reality TV. The My Killer Body star doesn’t shy away from sharing details of her private life during her interviews.

During her interview with Billboard on September 8, 2017, the reality star revealed she and her fiancé were in the process of having twin kids via surrogacy. And later, on Essence Now, she expresses her desire to have twin girls.

The musician has been trying to add twin girls to her family for a long time. However, unforeseen circumstances have put a halt to her hopes.

K. Michelle’s Hopes of Having Twin Kids

After opening up about her desire to have twin kids, Michelle has faced many hiccups over the years.

On September 14, 2017, the artist opened up about the decision to surrogacy after struggling to conceive in a series of tweets.

She wrote about her lupus scare in the first tweet, and then she added it was diagnosed as negative. She also revealed that she wouldn’t be able to carry twins full term due to her size.

And finally, she mentioned a previous abortion which might have caused her complications.

But the Love & Hip Hop star’s attempt at having a surrogate to extend her family has also been full of problems.

In 2019, a young lady named Tannae announced she would serve as Michelle’s surrogate in a YouTube video. But few knew she had jumped the gun and shared the news even before Michelle had a chance to make the announcement.

Furthermore, Madame Noire reported that Tannae and her boyfriend negotiated a contract with Love & Hip Hop behind Michelle’s back. In addition to that, the boyfriend even asked for a separate agreement.

Since they used Michelle as bargaining power, she broke off their relationship. “I’m not using that clown,” K. Michelle told Madame Noire of Tannae on February 3, 2020.

Many people know Michelle’s desire to have twin girls because she was candid about it. And because of that, the couple tried to take advantage of her.

And as of this writing, her wish to have twin girls is still unfulfilled.

However, Michelle is the proud mother of a son, Chase Bowman, who turned 18 in September 2021.

Chase wasn’t seen often on her reality shows and her Instagram page. And the artist explained why she kept her son away from the spotlight in an interview with HipHollywood.

The doting mother has dedicated the music video of her song 'A Mother's Prayer' to her son Chase. Michelle even gifted her son a Mercedes-Benz when he turned 16.

The reality star kept her son’s father a secret for a long time. But somehow, she got her baby daddy, Brian, to appear on the last episode of K. Michelle: My Life in 2014.

Who Is K. Michelle in a Relationship With?

The artist spoke about her abusive relationship with music producer Mickey “Memphitz” Wright. She recounted her experience when she first went public about being abused and people accused her of lying on social media.

Her last known relationship was with Dr. Kastan Sims. Michelle and her boyfriend Sims have been dating since 2016.

She told Essence in 2017, “they’ve been friends for 19 years.” “I feel like I’m married because he’s been attached to me for 19 years,” added the reality star.

Michelle rarely posts about her relationship on her social media, so it is unknown if she is still together with Sims.
