Julianne Nicholson Thanks Her Husband for Pulling His Weight in Her Absence
Julianne Nicholson has been in the industry for decades and built an impressive acting credit.
She is best known for her roles in the film August: Osage County, as well as the television series Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Masters of Sex, and Mare of Easttown.
And as an actress with a demanding schedule, she is often away from her husband, Jonathan Cake, and children on shoots.

But luckily for her, her husband steps up and takes on the role of a single parent when she is away from home.
Julianne Nicholson Thanks Her Husband
In a March 2017 Instagram post, the actress thanked her husband for everything he did while she was not around.
She shared that she was away from home again, which was difficult for her, but the one person who made it possible was her spouse.
“He gets up with the kids, makes breakfast, school lunches, does school runs and food shopping, school projects, music lessons, soccer coaching, dinner, bath time, reads to them every night before bed, bedtime, dinner time clear up before starting again the next day,” Nicholson wrote in the caption.
She said that was just the tip of the iceberg and acknowledged that she could not do it without his support.
Nicholson and her husband tied the knot in 2004 after meeting on the set of an HBO pilot show called Marriage.
Speaking on how they met, Cake told Broadway World, “Hilariously, we met doing a pilot for HBO called Marriage. This was 2003, with Steven Bochco. Kate Walsh was in it, and Frank Whaley.”
He shared he fell in love with Nicholson after seeing her act because when she acted, he could see the essence of who she was, and that was powerful to him.
Julianne Nicholson and Her Family
Unfortunately, the show never aired, but the duo walked away with something more important — a love that runs deep to this day.
After falling in love, they got married just outside Florence, a little place in the Tuscan country called Figline Valdarno.
The couple was originally planning to have a massive wedding, especially since the Mare of Easttown actress came from a huge family.
But after traveling to Italy for work, they decided to cut down the guest list and have a destination wedding.
It was difficult for foreigners to receive a permit to marry, and until about 20 minutes before the wedding, they were not sure if their wedding would go ahead.
Luckily, everything worked out in the end.
The couple has two children. Their son, Ignatius Cake, was born in early September 2007, and according to People, the name Ignatius was suggested by a friend.
“I am on maternity leave right now, but I’ll be back in January. We just had a baby three months ago. A friend thought up the name — Ignatius — and it just stuck,” said the actress.
Meanwhile, their daughter, Phoebe Margaret Cake, was born in 2009.
