Joshua Jackson Clears Misconception about His Relationship with Wife Jodie Turner-Smith
Joshua Jackson is an award-winning actor best known for his roles as Pacey Witter in Dawson’s Creek, Charlie Conway in Mighty Ducks, and Peter Bishop in Fringe.
He started his career in 1991 and has starred in over 50 projects to date. Some of his other notable works are Aurora Borealis, The Affair, Bobby, When They See Us, and Little Fires Everywhere.
As of 2020, Jackson has amassed a net worth of $12 million. Like his acting career, the actor is very successful in his personal life as well.
He has been with the famous actress Jodie Turner-Smith since 2018, and the pair share one daughter.
Turner-Smith Asked Jackson to Marry Her
Turner-Smith is a British model and actress based in America. She joined the entertainment industry after the Grammy-winning singer Pharrell Williams encouraged her to do so.
She started as a model for Levi's and Terry Richardson, slowly expanding her reach to music videos and movies. She is best known for Without Remorse, Queen & Slim, and Nightflyers.
On July 20, 2021, Jackson gushed about his wife and daughter in an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. One of the most noteworthy moments during the interview was when the actor revealed his wife popped the question, not him.
While the two talked about Jackson’s love life, Fallon asked him if he always knew he would get married to Turner-Smith. Then, the actor surprised everyone, saying he did when she asked him to be her husband.
Jackson went into detail about the proposal and said that the actress popped the question on December 31, 2018. The pair were celebrating New Year’s Eve in Nicaragua.
They were walking down the beach when the actress popped the question. Jackson defined the moment as “very beautiful, incredibly romantic.”
The actor was quite surprised when Turner-Smith asked his hand for marriage, but it was not out no nowhere. He knew it was bound to happen because of the “lead-up” to it.
Jackson said “yes” to his adamant partner, and the pair got married eight months later. He has no regret about their marriage since, according to him, it is “the best choice he has ever made.”
Following the interview, the actor took to Twitter to thank Fallon for letting him clarify the misconception about his wedding proposal.
Turner-Smith quote tweeted The Tonight Show’s tweet about her husband and asked, “what about the magic mushrooms?” tagging Jackson.
However, neither of them has revealed the involvement of hallucinogens in the marriage proposal.
The Relationship Timeline
Jackson shared his love story in an interview with Insider on July 17, 2021. The pair met each other in 2018 at a party where they instantly hit it off.
He explained that the moment he saw Turner-Smith, he knew he wanted to be with her forever. And it was the same case for the actress.
However, Turner-Smith played hard to get. She shared her experience about the first meeting with her beau on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
She was pretending not to see Jackson until he approached her. He was wearing a t-shirt from Sorry to Bother You, and the couple bonded over the movie.
Turner-Smith revealed that the entire night Jackson followed her around and tried to impress her.
They shared a passionate one-night stand the first time they met, but according to the actor, it was "technically a three-night stand."
The attraction between them was very strong, and hence, shortly after dating, Turner-Smith popped the question. The pair got married in August 2019 and welcomed their first daughter on April 2020.
