Jessie J revealed she suffered a miscarriage one day before her scheduled performance in Los Angeles in an emotional Instagram post.

The singer had previously opened up about her fertility struggles. She was told she could never have children because of a health issue that she is not ready to reveal yet.

However, on November 24, the 33-year-old posted a picture of her holding up a pregnancy test and said she had a baby and that’s all she ever wanted.

But when she went to the doctor for a routine checkup, she was told that there was no heartbeat.

Jessie J Opens up about Her Miscarriage

In a lengthy post, the ‘Domino’ singer revealed she was laughing with her friend before her gig about how she would get through the performance without telling the audience she was pregnant.

But sadly, she received the news of her miscarriage before she even got on stage. Overwhelmed with sadness, she noted that getting pregnant was a miracle and an experience she would never forget and have again.

Jessie shared her emotions were all over the place, but instead of canceling the show, she confirmed she would still perform because her soul needed it.

In addition, she clarified she was singing because it brought her joy, not because she was avoiding the grief.

I know some people will be thinking she should just cancel it. But in this moment, I have clarity on one thing. I started singing when I was young for joy, to fill my soul, and self-love therapy, that hasn’t ever changed, and I have to process this my way.

She added she wanted to be honest about her feelings, not just for the audience but for herself and her baby. So instead of giving a “tearful emotional speech“ on stage, the singer felt “safer” telling her fans what she was going through on social media.

Months after the unfortunate news, Jessie again mentioned the miscarriage during her appearance on Michelle Visage’s podcast Rule Breakers (Via Yahoo!).

"I'm grateful that I found the joy in it and I'm grateful that I got pregnant," she shared, adding that the pregnancy was the "experience of a lifetime for me."

The musical artist also mentioned how she looked forward to being a mother soon, "whichever way it happens."

She shared she was open to having a baby in the next two years, be it naturally or via surrogacy, IVF, or adoption

Jessie J’s Miscarriage Comes after Her Split with Former Boyfriend

The singer’s miscarriage came only a month after she split with choreographer and dancer Max Pham Nguyen.

Earlier in March, the couple went public with their relationship. She uploaded cozy photos of her and her boyfriend and revealed that he was not “her male pal,” according to a MailOnline article. But by the end of October, the duo called it quits

Jessie spoke out on Instagram, stating that ‘nothing dramatic’ had happened between the two. In a touching message, she described Max as an “amazing man,” and added that they still had a lot of love and respect for each other.

Before Max, the ‘Bang Bang’ hitmaker was in a relationship with Channing Tatum. However, the couple split for the final time after three months of reconciliation last April. They were first linked in 2018 after Tatum’s split from his wife, Jenna Dewan.

Jessie and Tatum appear to be on good terms as they’ve been spotted together following their breakup.
