Gabby Barrett Celebrated Mother's Day by Announcing Her Second Pregnancy

Gabby Barrett had a great mother's day.

The singer, who already has one daughter with her husband, fellow American Idol alum Cade Foehner, announced she was pregnant with her second on May 8, 2022.

Besides the pregnancy announcement, she also had romantic plans with her husband for the day. She got some late-night dessert to add further sweetness into the mix.

On May 8, both Barrett and Foehner took to Instagram to announce they were expecting their second kid together. They both posted a clip of an ultrasound that showed their new addition growing inside her belly.

"My son," Barrett wrote in her post. "Another LIFE we get to love and cherish."

She ended her short caption by wishing everyone a happy Mother's Day. Foehner's post about the same was a bit more descriptive.

"Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing, strong, and fruitful Bride!," he wrote in his post. "She is currently carrying another precious life."

He also mentioned that their soon-to-be-born baby was a son. In a biblically poetic way, he showed his appreciation for his wife.

"Our children will rise up and call her blessed, this husband also, praises her," he expressed his pride in his wife and what he expected of his children.

Ending his writing, he quoted Proverbs 31:28 — "Praise God from whom all blessings flow!"

Later that day, the couple went to a nice dinner to celebrate the occasion, made even more special by their pregnancy. Foehner posted a picture from their night out, where Barrett was enjoying what looked like a chocolate cake after dinner.

"Mother’s Day dinner for this beauty," he wrote as the caption.

The comments in all of these posts were mostly congratulatory and appreciative, while a few were trying to drum up drama as well.

Barrett and Foehner first met on the sets of American Idol in 2018, after they reached the Top 24. And while everyone else's eyes were set on her (she went on to secure third place as well as win a few awards), her sights were fixed on him.

She felt like she liked him a lot, and she made the first move. He reciprocated fittingly and thus began their relationship.

The couple married on October 5, 2021, at a "rustic" Texas wedding. She was only 19 at the time; he was 23.

Around two years later, on January 18, 2021, Barrett and Foehner welcomed their first kid — daughter Baylah May Foehner — after first announcing they were pregnant in August 2020.

During the time Baylah was growing inside her, Foehner grew as a parent. He was "extra thoughtful" and patient through her mood swings, and the time they spent preparing for Baylah's arrival brought them even closer.

After her lullaby baby's birth, Barrett admitted that her life and priorities had changed. And with her son's arrival, it might change even more.
