Spoiler Warning: The content includes plot and ending details for Hawkeye and Black Widow.

Marvel Studios has been on a roll releasing content throughout 2021, and as we approached the end of the year, fans were thrilled with the release of the Disney+ series Hawkeye

Hawkeye featured important new players like Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop and Alaqua Cox’s Echo.

Fans also saw Florence Pugh make her grand entrance as Yelena Belova. Belova is hunting for Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton for his involvement in her sister’s death, Natasha Romanov (Scarlett Johansson).

In one scene, Belova had a brutal fight on a rooftop with Bishop before fleeing into the night.

On the premiere day of Hawkeye’s episode 4, Pugh took to Instagram to celebrate her MCU return, sharing an Instagram post of Belova’s screenshots along with Instagram stories of the action-packed rooftop fight scene plot.

But her posts are now causing unexpected controversy as dedicated MCU fans are accusing her of “leaking spoilers.”

Florence Pugh’s Instagram Content Blocked As Spoilers

Although the episode was already available on Disney+, some fans who had not seen it took it as leaked content.

According to the actress, “someone” (likely many Instagram users) flagged her Instagram posts as spoilers, resulting in the social media platform taking down her posts.

However, she could still share a pointed message in her stories. Pugh vented her frustrations, stating she never thought she would be blocked from posting love for a show she appeared in.

However, here we are. I’ve been blocked from posting my own appearance on a show I’m very much in because someone on here complained. It’s ridiculous.

She concluded by iterating that being in Hawkeye was a privilege and thanked everyone who welcomed her on set and off and people who tuned in.

She also shared a video reacting to her big Hawkeye moment as she whooped excitedly in the background.

In a recent Variety interview, Hawkeye’s head writer and creator Jonathan Igla revealed he begged the Marvel higher-ups to bring Pugh in for the limited series after her introduction in Black Widow

Florence Pugh’s Character

For the unversed, Pugh’s made her MCU debut in Black Widow. Her character Belova was raised as Romanoff’s, the Black Widow’s “sister,” even though they didn’t share the same blood.

The two sisters, Alexei Shostakov, the Red Guardian, and Melina Vostokoff (a Black Widow herself) stole intel from S.H.I.E.L.D.

They then returned it to their handlers from the Red Room, an evil organization that Romanoff eventually escaped from with the help of Barton.

She left Belova behind but in Black Widow, the two sisters reunite and successfully blow up Red Room.

In the Black Widow post-credits, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, aka Val (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), appeared and told Belova that Hawkeye was responsible for Romanoff’s demise. This convinced Belova and set up Pugh’s involvement in the Hawkeye series.

There are two episodes left in the series, and as the storyline continues to build up, Belova is sure to play a significant role in the MCU.

You can catch the new episodes of Hawkeye on Disney+ every Wednesday.
