The long wait for fans of Travel Channel’s Destination Fear is finally over. The show is set to premiere its third season on July 24, 2021, on Travel Channel and Discovery+.

And no prizes in guessing the cast for the show, as the original paranormal investigator of the show Dakota Laden and his team are back on the road to take on the haunted and paranormal hotspots across America.

On February 18, 2021, it was announced that the show had officially been picked for an eight-episode third season after a successful second season.

The second season, which aired its 14 episodes between April 29, 2020, and December 19, 2020, received great ratings on IMDb with the highest of 8.8 out of 10 on the 12th episode titled ‘Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum.’

The least rated episode was the 6th episode, ‘Sheboygan County Asylum,’ with a 7.4 rating.

What to Expect On ‘Destination Fear’ Season 3?

Confirming the third season of Destination Fear, the show’s lead investigator Dakota revealed in a press release that he and his team would explore a jail, a sanatorium, a reformatory, and the Villisca Axe Murder House.

“We’ve been through a lot together but even after all of our dark encounters, we’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s out there,” Dakota added.

He further shared that he usually saved the worse location [and the best for viewers] for last, but he would go through the scariest places first this season. His words,

I usually save the worst location for last, but this time I am throwing us head-first into one of the scariest places in the entire country. And I have a few surprises up my sleeve to fuel the terror even more.

In the premiere episode, the paranormal investigators visit Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Kentucky, one of the most frightening and infamous places in America.

The death rate at the former tuberculosis hospital was reportedly so high that a “body chute” was created to hide the constant flow of dead bodies from those living in the facility.
