Cillian Murphy is a very private man and leads a similar lifestyle with his wife, Yvonne McGuinness, and their two kids.

She is not in the limelight, and unlike her husband, she works behind the camera. She was born in October 1972 to a successful businessman, Gay McGuinness.

Gay used to have a transport business but later bought a wine vineyard in 1986. Yvonne did not follow in her father's footsteps and became an artist.

Yvonne McGuinness studied at the Royal College of Art in London and got her Master’s degree from the same institute. She is involved in video installation and print.

It is reported that she has also made a few short films like Procession, This is Between Us, and Charlie’s Place. The Batman Begins actor first met his wife in 1996.

Back then, Murphy was a singer and guitarist for an Irish band by the name of The Sons of Mr. Green Genes.

According to Sydney Morning Herald, Yvonne and Murphy met at one of the latter's shows.

On the other hand, in an interview with Guardian on April 23, 2016, the actor said that he met his wife while shooting the Irish movie Disco Pig in 2001.

He opened up that it was the first time he met Yvonne, and she was with him during the tour. Regardless of when they met, the two tied the knot in 2004.

The two had their wedding ceremony at Yvonne's father's vineyard in Provence, France. But other than that, not much is known about the couple's wedding and dating life.

Now that Murphy is a successful actor, his career has sometimes dampened his marriage. When he first got into the spotlight, he played different roles as a villain.

In an interview with Metro UK on October 27, 2009, the actor said his spouse could "see a marked difference" during films.

Especially the scary roles he played, he had sometimes taken it with him to home.

However, Murphy reasoned it, saying, "It's a difficult thing living with an actor."

Cillian Murphy and His Kids 

Murphy shares two kids with his partner. Their first child, Malachy, was born in 2005, and the pair were blessed with their second son, Aran, in 2007.

As said before, Murphy values his privacy. As a result, he has kept his kids out of the limelight. 

He and his spouse even moved out of London to Dublin, Ireland, when their sons were young. The actor did so because the team "wanted them [kids] to be Irish."

Moreover, moving to Dublin has secured their privacy more than ever. As a result, Murphy lives his best life in solitude with his family.
