Meet Chris Stapleton’s Wife Morgane Stapleton — Inside Their True Country Love Story
Chris Stapleton married his wife Morgane Stapleton in 2007 after four years of dating. The couple has been together ever since and has welcomed five children together. However, the two aren’t just partners in parenting, but also work together in many of his songs.
Music played a massive part in the two getting together. During a 2015 interview with Paste Magazine, Chris and Morgane opened up about meeting and getting together.
Chris and his wife first met in 2003 when he was working at a Nashville publishing company. The singer joked, saying Morgane was a stalker, and she somewhat agreed with his statement. She had also recounted the story of them getting together when talking to The Washington Post.
Morgane was friends with Chris’s song plugger and would hang out at her friend’s office every day until he came there to play the song he had written.
We’d hear the jingle of his keys as he walked down the hall, and we knew he was coming to play us whatever new song he had written. Eventually, he asked me to write a song with him, and that ended up being our first date. We didn’t get much writing done that night.
Chris Stapleton And Wife Have Five Children
After four years of dating, Chris and Morgane eventually tied the knot in 2007. The two started expanding their family a few years into their marriage and now are parents to five kids.
Chris and Morgane initially had two children, a daughter, and a son, until 2018, when they welcomed twin boys. During his concert at Madison Square Garden on November 2, 2018, the country singer announced he and his wife were expecting their fifth child.
On May 12, 2019, Chris and his wife welcomed their fifth child, a baby boy.
She Is Also A Songwriter
Like her husband, Morgane is also a songwriter. Over the years, she has written songs for well-known artists such as Kellie Pickler, Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson, and LeAnn Rimes.
Aside from the artists mentioned above, Morgane has also helped Chris write songs and served as his backup singer for years. She also selected the songs from his library of songs for his debut solo album Traveller, where she sang the harmony.
My wife has great taste in everything but men. The vast majority of the songs on my debut album, ‘Traveller,’ came from lists she made.
Morgane has praised Chris’s ability to write songs. ‘Daddy Doesn’t Pray Anymore’ from Traveller, which she describes as the “most emotional, saddest country song” she has heard, was written by him in 10 minutes while waiting for her to get ready to go out.
