Inside Chase McNary and Fiancee Ellie White’s Relationship Timeline and Engagement
Chase McNary has finally put a ring on it!
The Bachelor Nation alum proposed to his longtime girlfriend and now fiancee, Ellie White, in July 2022. The two were ecstatic about their engagement and announced the special day on their Instagram.
But, how was their road to engagement? The couple started dating over two years ago and here are a few details about how they came to be together and the journey they have had till now.
Chase McNary and Ellie White — Relationship Timeline
Before going into McNary and White's relationship, it is worthwhile visiting the time McNary spent trying to find love before he came across his now fiancee.
McNary came to prominence after his stint in The Bachelorette's season 12, in 2016. That season, he competed against many other men for Jojo Fletcher, that season's bachelorette.
However, after being shunned by Fletcher when confessing his love for her, he went on to do a few other reality shows. He became a part of MTV's Ex on the Beach in 2014, and continued the work till 2018.
He was also set to be the main man for the 21st season of The Bachelor, in 2017, but was replaced by Nick Viall at the last minute. After this, he appeared in Bachelor in Paradise's season 6, in 2019, only briefly, though.
After all these short-lived TV stints and relationships, he focused on his career for a while. With that, he also found love in the traditional, without-the-cameras way.
Instagram Official and Mom’s Approval
In May 2020, he went public with his relationship with White. He even posted a cute video of the two's guessing game, which was meant to be a relationship proposal to her.

By July 2020, he knew she was THE one. On July 26, 2020, he made a post gushing about how he had found a way to navigate "the best relationship" he had ever been in.
"I have finally cracked the code to the best relationship that I’ve ever had... â£And it’s one five letter word...⣠â£TRUST," he wrote. He also said he never trusted anyone else as much as he did her, and he even trusted himself more when he was around her.
Even his mom was all in for their relationship. "As soon as my mom fell in love with her, it was game over," McNary told E! News.
Engagement and Wedding Plans
The couple's relationship sailed smoothly and their many Instagram posts throughout 2021 are proof of that. Then on July 2, 2022, McNary surprised White, as well as everyone who loved their romance, with an engagement ring.
On the day, The Bachelorette alum planned a picnic for White at a scenic spot in Breckenridge, Colorado. He had the decors planned, too, with candles and the initial of his last name at the spot.
Upon getting to the spot, he got down on his knee and brought out the ring. After a few moments of being happily shocked, White said yes, and he put the ring on her.
Posting about the engagement, McNary wrote, "It was always you," in his announcement post. White, too, made her own post, writing, "Take me off the roster. Forever his."
"I knew from the start that she was the one I wanted to be in my life forever," he gushed about his fiancee with E! News. He even claimed he was yet to find a single person who had anything negative to say about her.
As for the setting, he wanted the theme to be "an east west setting" because she had moved from Nashville to be with him in Arizona. And the ring, he said, was meant to be a "simple but elegant and functional ring," something she told him early in their relationship.
Further, they also told E! that they had no immediate plans for a wedding and wanted to take their engagement in at first. They were looking at a wedding date in the "next summer of fall."
