Candace Parker finally reveals she is married to a wife — and the couple is expecting a baby.
On Tuesday, the WNBA champion took to her Instagram to announce that she had been secretly married to Anna Petrakova for the last two years.
She also shared photos from the couple’s wedding, which seemed to have taken place at a beach location.
“Happy Anniversary...2 years ago, I got to marry my best friend in front of our close family and friends,” Parker wrote in her caption.
In her lengthy yet heartwarming release, she continued to express, saying,
This journey hasn’t been easy. I am proud of us and what we have built and who we have grown to become, both individually and together.
She further thanked her wife, Petrakova, for loving the basketball pro’s 12-year-old daughter, Lailaa Nicole Williams, who she had with her former husband, Shelden Williams.
Candace Parker and Her Wife Are Expecting a Baby
Parker’s post didn’t just reveal her married status. The post, featuring a series of the couple’s pictures, had some good news, too.
The 35-year-old basketball player shared that her wife was pregnant, and the couple was expecting a baby together.
“We’ve always dreamed of growing our family… .it’s surreal that we now have a baby on the way! Lailaa is pumped to be a big sister!” Parker expressed her happiness.
The third snap in the slideshow saw Parker, Petrakova, and Williams together, while in the fourth snap, Petrakova flaunted her baby bump, posing in front of a beautiful sunset backdrop.

The Chicago Sky star also pampered her spouse, saying that she could not be more beautiful. “Glowing, while understanding that I have to constantly love, kiss, and talk to your belly AND yes… play Jay-Z for the baby,” she added.
Who Is Candace Parker’s Wife?
Parker’s wife, Petrakova, is a former professional basketball player, who was part of the Russian women’s national team that placed fourth at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
She also represented Dynamo Kursk, a Russian women’s basketball club, and helped the team win the EuroCup Women in 2011–12 and the EuroLeague Women in 2012–13.
Candace Parker’s Marriage with Husband Ended in a Divorce
The former Los Angeles Sparks star was previously married to Duke University and NBA player Shelden Williams. She tied the knot on November 13, 2008.
A year later, on May 13, they welcomed their first child together.
According to Realtor, the couple even bought a 7,000-square-foot home in Encino, Los Angeles, for $3.56 million, in 2013.
However, they decided to split after eight years of marriage.
In November 2016, Williams filed for divorce from Parker, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
The NBA player also demanded spousal support and joint custody of their kid.
At the time, many also questioned Williams’ demand for spousal support from Parker, noting that he reportedly made more than $12 million during his NBA career.
On the other hand, Parker reportedly earned in the low 6-figures when she played for Los Angeles Sparks.
