The original host of the children's television series Blue’s Clues, Steve Burns, teared up all the Nick Jr. viewers by addressing his sudden exit from the famous show.

On the occasion of Blue's Clues' 25th anniversary, Burns wore the same green striped shirt and hat as he wore in the series. Then, he provided closure on his exit through a Twitter video for Nick Jr.

At first, Burns recounted the old days, addressing the then-children he played the game with. Then, he asked, "Do you remember how when we were younger, we used to run around and hang out with Blue and find clues."

Then, he touched on his exit and mentioned how he had abruptly left the show after introducing his replacement, Donovan Patton, as his brother. Burns added,

Then I got on a bus and I left and we didn’t see each other for like a really long time? Can we just talk about that? Because I realize that was kind of abrupt.

Burns disclosed he left the show to pursue higher education. As per his accounts, the move was challenging yet rewarding, for he could use his mind and finally do things he wanted in life.

The fan-favorite host addressed his then-participant, who are adults now, saying: "Look at you, and look at all you have done, and all you have accomplished in all that time. And it’s just, it’s just so amazing, right?"

He also remarked how they had started with clues and now ended up with student loans, jobs, and families. Burns made everyone emotional as he compared olden times and with the present status.

But more than that, the television personality left all viewers tearful by affirming that he had never forgotten them. Instead, he thanked them for watching his show. He reiterated how he couldn't have done anything without their help.

At the end of the video, the 47-year-old mentioned he was super glad he was still friends with all his viewers.

As soon as Burns' video made it to the internet, old viewers of the shows poured their love and support for the original host. One particular Twitter user mentioned how he didn't know he needed the closer until now.

Another fan posted a picture of a man crying and wrote, "far too old to be sobbing over blue's clues and yet...here i am."
