Becca Tobin and her husband, entrepreneur Zach Martin, who have been married since December 2016, recently became parents to a baby boy.

On February 22, 2022, the actress — known for her role as Kitty Wilde on the Fox musical comedy-drama series Glee — took to Instagram to announce that she and her husband welcomed their first child via surrogate.

She shared the good news alongside a sweet photo of Martin walking out of the hospital while carrying their son in a car seat.

"Welcome to the world, Ford. Rutherford 'Ford' Thomas Martin is here and life is already so much sweeter," Tobin wrote, as she also revealed the name of the little bundle of joy.

"Thank you to our amazing surrogate for bringing him here safely surrounded by so much love," she added in her caption.

Besides, Tobin did a quick Q&A session via Instagram stories, where she talked about the baby and the process behind his birth.

Replying to one of the questions, she stated she was in the delivery room when the surrogate mother gave birth to the little one.

"Are you struggling with a connection since you didn't physically carry him?" another follower asked, to which she responded by saying that she didn't have any issues with bonding with the baby.

She wrote, "Not even a little. For some reason I was never concerned about this factor because I have parents in my life who had their children all types of ways and they are all equally as bonded."

As per her, she and Martin made an embryo during their IVF process, due to which the baby has the genes of both mother and father.

Becca Tobin's IVF Journey

During an episode of the LadyGang podcast, which she co-hosts alongside Entertainment Tonight correspondent Keltie Knight and designer Jac Vanek, in July 2020, Tobin talked about her fertility struggles.

She stated she had previously suffered two miscarriages, which led her to undergo in-vitro fertilization.

But the IVF journey started just at the perfect time for Tobin.

"So quarantine was the perfect time for me to do it, because I could post a video and then turn away from social media as long or as short as I wanted to...and I had time to process that for myself," the actress shared.
