Many social media stars have used their platforms to launch big careers, and Baby Ariel, whose real name is Ariel Martin, is one of them. She started out on TikTok’s predecessor, Musical.ly, way back in 2015.

Her lip sync and dance videos helped her build a big following. In 2017, she was featured on Forbes’ list of top entertainment influencers, and a year later, Time Magazine called her one of the most influential people on the internet.

Since her rise on social media, she has starred in movies and released songs, proving she can do it all. If you've ever wondered who is Baby Ariel? Here’s everything you need to know about the rising star.

1. An Unfortunate Event Led Her to Musical.ly

In an interview with Paper, the TikTok star revealed she was 14 years old when she started Musical.ly.

Her entire family was living in one of the rooms at her grandparents’ house after her home was nearly destroyed by a flood. So during summer, instead of going to summer camps, she and her brother spent most of their free time having fun with Musical.ly.

2. Her Journey into Acting and Singing

Martin garnered massive attention on the app and eventually landed a deal with Creative Artists Agency in 2016. She began releasing her own songs and debuted her first single, ‘Aww,’ in 2017.

Although she has not released an album yet, she dropped a series of singles and collaborated with artists like Daniel Skye. Her 2018 video ‘Perf’ currently has over 39 million views on YouTube.

In 2020, she proved just how talented she was when she starred as Wynter in Disney’s Zombies 2 and in the spin-off television series Zombies 2: Wolf Tales.

Per Celebrity Net Worth, she has a net worth of $6 million thanks to her many endeavors.

3. Her Parents Are Social Media Stars Too

Martin’s parents are very supportive of her and brother Jacob, aka King Jacob, and their social media careers, which now include singing and acting.

But the Meet the Martins YouTube channel also let Martin’s parents in on the internet fame. They have over 250,000 subscribers, but it appears they are no longer active, given that the last video uploaded was 2 years ago.

They did carpool karaoke together, pranked call people, critiqued old videos, and occasionally they gave fans a glimpse of Martin and her brother’s past with old videos.

4. Her Love Life

Of course, Martin's successful career came with some romantic relationships with fellow internet stars.

Last year, Martin took her YouTube channel to set the record straight that she and TikTok star Jacob Sartorius were just friends. The duo made a lot of videos together, and fans began speculating they were dating.

Fans also assumed that Martin and Syke were an item because of their incredible chemistry in their song ‘Say It.’ However, the two never denied nor confirmed the rumors.

Two of the relationships that actually existed were with Zach Clayton and Blake Gray. But her current boyfriend is Murphy Milo.

5. She Started an Anti-bullying Campaign

With all the fame and success, Martin naturally became a target of internet trolls and cyberbullying. Her rise to fame overnight was wrought with nasty comments and online hate.

To help combat cyberbullying, she started a movement called #Arielmovement. She wanted to speak out and help her followers who might have experienced something similar.

There’s no denying that Martin is the perfect role model for Gen-Zs.Â
