tick, tick…BOOM! star Andrew Garfield has talked about his love for RuPaul’s Drag Race on multiple occasions. In fact, the actor even made an appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK as a guest judge.

With that being the case, Laverne Cox from E! asked Garfield who he would choose to impersonate if he ever competed on the reality show's Snatch Game, a challenge where the contestants mostly (but not always) impersonate women.

Garfield was caught off guard by the question and had a hard time making up his mind. “You’re putting me on the spot! What am I gonna do? What’s it gonna be?” he spoke while trying to decide on a name.

Eventually, Garfield answered, saying he would choose to impersonate Meryl Streep if he got the chance.

When Cox approved of his answer, the Hacksaw Ridge actor laughed while saying, “Why not? Let’s give it a try. She’s hilarious.”

Garfield’s answer quickly blew up on Twitter and even RuPaul’s Drag Race’s official account tweeted about it.

“Andrew Garfield playing Meryl Streep in Snatch Game? We would like to see it. #Oscars”

Many fans of the show replied to the tweet, expressing their desire to see Garfield pull off Streep’s impersonation.

Garfield had previously upset members of the LGBTQ community when he was playing Prior Walter in the London Production of Tony Kushmer’s play. Walter is a gay man with AIDS struggling through the 1980s.

When speaking of his role, Garfield said he was “a gay man right now, just without the physical act.”

The statement caused a controversy and many members of the LGBTQ community denounced him for his words. Some even accused him of cultural appropriation.

However, Garfield didn’t mean to offend anyone with his statement and had just wanted to express how immersed he was in the role.

When talking to Gay Times, Garfield shared he had spoken to many friends in the gay community to better play the role. He also noted that he had watched every single series of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Later on in October 2019, when the reality competition series finally came to the UK, Garfield made an appearance on it as a guest judge.

His appearance was also coupled with a stint he did on the runway. In a short video, the show’s official Twitter page uploaded, Garfield could be seen sashaying his way down the runway.

As he reaches the end of the runway, the actor spins several times before getting down on all four and acting like a cat as he makes his way to the backstage.

The clip blew up on Twitter, and people couldn’t get enough of him.

“I didn’t think I could fancy Andrew Garfield more and then he pops up on Drag Race as an avid fan????” wrote one user.

The clip also inspired dozens of funny memes and many fans of the show called to instate him as a full-time judge.
