In the wake of that, the book author, Todd, has now come up with a graphic novel based on the After book series, giving the fans of the book series and its movie counterparts another reason to celebrate.

Graphic Novel Is Scheduled to Release in 2022

Todd sat down with Teen Vogue's Lauren Rearick in July 2021 to reveal the first look of the adaptation.

She informed that the first part of the graphic novel was titled After: The Graphic Novel (Volume One), which follows the beginning of the emotional, whirlwind romance between college students Tessa and Hardin.

The graphic novel is slated to release on March 22, 2022, with Volume Two to arrive in fall 2022, and five additional volumes would follow.

The illustrated depictions of Tessa and Hardin were created in a close association between Todd and artist Pablo Andrés.

Getting to create the look for each character and choosing eye colors, hair styles, tattoos, clothing, and settings that are true to the novels has been a blast.

"We were guided by the novels, and from that starting point developed the look and mannerisms for Tessa, Hardin, their family and friends. Readers might see some familiar visuals, but Hardin and Tessa, in the graphic novel, are totally new creations," she told the publication, explaining her recent work.

Todd also shared that readers were in for some surprises, as she and her team had twisted some of the storylines to fit the graphic novel.

The cover of the graphic novel comprises an illustrated image of Tessa and Hardin, seated in one another's arms.

‘After We Fell’ Releases in September This Year

Earlier this month, the release date for the third installment of the After film series — After We Fell — was also announced. The film is set to hit the screen on September 30, 2021.

"Does it get steamier than this?! #AfterWeFell (US) hits theatres in 77 days. Who’s ready?" the official Instagram handle of the After film series captioned in their July 15 post

The announcement post was followed up by an official film trailer the same day, which saw leading actors Langford and Tiffin sharing intimate scenes.

As we go into the trailer, Tessa talks about pain while intense music plays in the background. Hardin also hints at his disagreement on her move to Seattle. The latter half of the 1 minute 43 seconds video previews the complications between them.

The movie is directed by Castille Landon, a new director for the franchise, who reportedly will also direct the film's fourth chapter, After Ever Happy
