Earlier in April, the rock duo released two singles: 'OMG Plz Don't Come Around' and 'Flashdrive'.

The Lynch siblings are involved in writing, performing, and producing most of the tracks of the band and the summer tune ‘Take Me Away’ is one of them.

The duo did an Instagram live chat on July 11, 2020, to celebrate the song. The chat was joined by 20k fans. In the live chat, Ross Lynch shared that the song was written by the duo when leaving Vancouver.

…This song Rocky and I were writing when we were leaving Vancouver and for some reason, I knew then that was probably gonna be the last time. I didn’t really say that to many people. I just started feeling that…It just felt like the last time.

"Ummm so, we wrote this song. And coincidentally it came out around the same time that we found that we are not gonna go back," Ross explained.

"That is actually…extremely crazy," Rocky Lynch added.

In the live session, American actor/singer Riker Anthony Lynch—the elder brother of the duo—told that they would be recording the video of the song on July 13, 2020.
