Peabody, three Murrow Awards, a Golden Mic and Emmy award-winning journalist Brandi Michele Hitt is a reporter for ABC News, who appears on various programs for the network based in the Los Angeles bureau.

For ABC Network News, Brandi regularly appeared on Good Morning America, World News Tonight, and Nightline. She also covered Nelson Mandela's death, the war from Afghanistan and Mexican immigration, California's devastating wildfires, Hurricane Sandy and the Boston Marathon bombing.

When native Californian, Brandi was just eight years old, she knew she wanted to be a reporter after watching Murphy Brown. The TV show character sparked her interest in broadcast news, but it was watching local newscasts every night with her parents that ignited a passion for journalism. Later on, carving a path to make her passion her career, she knew education was essential. And, she received her degree in mass communication/journalism from Fresno State.

Since joining ABC News in 2012, some of the famous projects that fell on Brandi’s lap includes the movie theater massacre in Aurora, Colorado, Penn State’s sex abuse scandal and the 2012 Presidential election.

Before joining ABC News, back in 2010, Hitt with the height of 5 feet and 4 inches, joined KTLA as a reporter and anchor. She worked there till 2012 and received L.A.’s Golden Mike Award.

And, before joining KTLA, in the year 2005, she worked as an anchor and reporter at KOVR in Sacramento. After working for five years, she left KOVR in 2010. During her time at KMPH in Fresno (2003-2005), she helped launch the morning newscast Great Day and was promoted from reporter to anchor.

The couple got married back in 23rd September of 2006. Together, they celebrated their eleventh wedding anniversary back in 2017 as Brandi posted a picture of her wedding night, holding hands of her husband and calling herself lucky to have a guy like him as her husband.

After eight years of togetherness, back in 31st March of 2014, Brandi and her husband, Christopher welcomed a beautiful daughter, Khaleesi. After the birth of her daughter, her unwavering advocacy for children's issues has grown stronger than before.
