Dilbert comic creator Scott Adams married his longtime girlfriend Kristina Basham on July 11, 2020.

The wedding invited several trolls and mean comments for the 63-year-old-bridegroom and 32-year-old-bride due to their age difference. Adams did not hold back and responded to the haters with the help of his wife.

Trolled for Their Age Difference

Adams and his wife Kristina Basham, a pilot and instrumentalist, began dating in 2016. Ever since they started dating, people began passing mean comments to them because of their age difference.

On July 12, 2018, a Twitterati expressed his views on Adams and Basham’s relationship. He wrote Adams was smart and knew that the former model was with him only for money; however, he let her be with him because he wanted a young girl in his life.

Similarly, when Adams posted a beautiful picture of his now-wife on Twitter on July 8, 2018, another Twitter user mocked them by writing, “your granddaughter?”

These are just a couple of instances where the couple received disturbing and mean comments. 

They Clapped Back at the Hate Comments

After four years together, Adams and Basham finally married on July 11, 2020. 

And within a few days after the wedding, the couple fired back at the unkind comments made on their marriage and relationship.

At first, the comic creator took to Twitter to respond to the haters. On July 14, 2020, he sarcastically thanked the “bitter and broken people” who had unkind things to say about his wedding. He also shared that he and his wife found those unkind comments entertaining. 

Thank you to all the bitter and broken people who had unkind things to say about my wedding. We found it entertaining that so many professional writers could only think of one joke-insult . . . and it was the same one.

On July 15, 2020, Scott's pilot wife added to her husband’s tweet and addressed bitter comments made on Scott’s wedding dress. She shared he wanted to wear a jacket and tie, but she stopped him from wearing them because it was too hot. 

In the end, she also elaborated on their age gap. She wrote, “im over 30. Age gap is irrelevant. I’m a grown WOMAN.”

Their Previous Marriages 

Before Basham, Adams was married to Shelly Miles. The former couple got married at a yacht in the San Francisco Bay in July 2006.

The wedding was the first marriage for the then-49-year-old Adams. However, it was the second for the then-39-year-old Shelly, who had two children: a son aged six and a daughter aged 8. The duo divorced in 2014. 

Likewise, Basham was in a marital relationship with Chad Basham. They have two daughters, whom they co-parent.
