American former diplomat and journalist James Rubin, blessed with a successful professional life, married his wife for about two decades ago.

James Rubin has been a contributing editor to The New Republic which focuses on foreign affairs. He is looking forward to publishing a book about America’s use of military force abroad.

Born in 1960 in New York City, USA as James Philip Rubin, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Rubin of Larchmont.  James' father served as the president of Pindar Press, a New York magazine company.

James' mother Judith Rubin works at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, where she is assigned to train students specializing in psychiatry to conduct interviews.

James has an impressive education based background. He earned Bachelor of arts degree in Political Science from Columbia University in 1982. After graduation, he continued his master degree in the international affair at Columbia University and completed it in 1984.

James in his early days was the Assistant Director of Research at the Arms Control Association. He became the Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs and Chief Spokesman for the State Department under President Clinton from 1997 to May 2000.

He tried his hands on portfolio career becoming a Visitor Professor of International Relations at the London School of Economics.

From 2002 and 2003 he worked as the host of PBS’s Wide Angle series. He then served as the chief foreign policy spokesman for General Wesley Clarks presidential Campaign in 2003.

After working for John Kerry during his 2004 Presidental Campaign, he was able to make a name for himself. From October 2005 to July 2006 he became the lead news anchor on World News Tonight on Sky News.

James then became the member of Hillary Clinton’s campaign team in 2008. After two years he joined the Bloomberg News but quit the job only working for ten months.

And on 29 May 2013, he quit all his US-based position while sticking on to his journalism and stuff. The man might have needed a break. 

With a well-established career, it is safe to say that James has a lot of wealth to himself. Although exact information about his current net worth and salary has not been revealed in the media, his wife has a net worth of $12.5 million.

James Rubin Met Future Wife, Christiane Amanpour In War Zone

James met his future wife, Christiane Amanpour (British-Iranian journalist and television host, one among the wealthiest of journalists), for the first time in 1997 in Bosnia and the two journalists just clicked. They started blossoming romance soon after coming briefly close. The irony of building romance, however, is its contradictory location; war-torn Sarajevo. 

The workplace romance got a title when the duo tied knots back on 8th August 1998 in Italy, after about a year of dating. Their marriage marked two decades in 2018. 

James Rubin, A Good Father To His Son 

Two years into the marriage and Rubin-Amanpour were blessed with a son named Darius John Rubin back born in 2000. The year brought dynamics in their life just like childbirth does in every duo's lives. 

James went over the line to prove himself an excellent dad to the newborn son. He chose to become a stay at home and take care of his son as his wife had to be traveling to different sectors on account of her job.

In an interview with the People magazine in June 2015 he said:

The primary thing was to help Christiane raise Darius. It was an incredibly fortuitous time for me.I really got to know my son."

In his attempt to be a good father her earned himself a tag of a good husband in the meantime, a husband caring enough to step down so as to let his wife take a step up. He even moved to London to live in a luxurious house for his wife in 2013, proving himself his wife's 'true hero'.

Apart from that, James and Christine had also been listed in The World’s 15 Most Powerful Couple in 2012.

With such massive net worth and well- established the career of the couple, they were bound to make it to the list. Everyone estimated their forever stay in the list until their relationship somersaulted in 2018. 

James Marriage With Wife Takes A New Turn

The once powerful couple gave a stroke to everyone by calling quit on their two decades of married life. They didn't make an announcement themselves but reports of their parting ways were released by people.com on 11 July 2018. 

The reason for the separation between former husband and wife has not come out in the media, but its aftermaths can be seen as James has moved back to Washington.
