TikTok star Dixie D'Amelio opened up about giving up a lot of their privacy while filming the Hulu reality show The D'Amelio Show in an interview with ET at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards on May 23, 2021.

The D'Amelios bagged their own family show in December 2020, exclusively on Hulu. The eight-episode series is about Dixie, Charli, and their parents, Marc and Heidi, and is set to premiere this summer.

In an exclusive interaction with ET's Lauren Zima, when asked about her experience shooting with her family, Dixie replied that filming had been really strange. She explained that while people might expect another reality show drama, that wasn't the case.

The youth icon said she was excited to share the genuine emotions and feelings their family experience daily with the world.

"We are giving up a lot of our privacy and our personal lives," Dixie mentioned, "but I think it's going to be cool for people to see."

As per Dixie, fans will discover a lot of random details and much more about the D'Amelio family. She noted that she was thrilled for people to get a more in-depth view of their family lives than just the 15-second videos on social media.

Dixie also presented at the Billboard Music Awards that took place at the Microsoft Theater. The teenage sensation stunned in a sparkling silver Ralph & Russo gown with her hair tied in a high bun and bold eye makeup.

"We've been inside for a very long time, so why not shine during the times when we come out?" Dixie said. "I always wear really dark clothes."

Trailer Dropped on May 18, 2021

The first look of The D'Amelio Show dropped on May 18, 2021, on the official YouTube channel of Hulu

In the teaser, Charli said, “You might know me from TikTok.”

Though Charli, 17, is known for creating viral TikTok dance trends, Dixie, 19, is known for her sad-girl music, their new Hulu trailer revealed that they were just ordinary people with ordinary parents, Marc and Heidi, who moved the whole family from Connecticut to L.A.

While navigating a cross-country transfer, the girls' parents did their best to hold their family close and encourage their daughters' aspirations while shielding them from the dark side of fame.

“Being normal kids, that doesn’t change with a following,” their mom said on the trailer.

The highly awaited reality series follows TikTok star Charli and her family as they are thrown into the Hollywood spotlight almost overnight, facing new obstacles and opportunities they never imagined.

With over 150 million followers across her social media sites, Charli became one of the most popular teenagers in the world at just 16.

Since then, she has been managing her popularity, family, dancing, making new friends in LA, and battling haters online — all the while running a flourishing self-made empire.

On the other hand, Dixie has had her own meteoric rise to fame. Her ambition is to create a prosperous music career in Los Angeles, with 78 million followers across platforms and one of the fastest-growing YouTube channels.
