Television personality and star chef Alton Brown met his wife, Elizabeth Ingram, when he hired her to redesign his new loft in Marietta, Georgia, in 2015. They met shortly after Brown divorced his first wife, DeAnna.
Married Elizabeth Ingram in a Boat
Food Network star and his interior designer wife, Elizabeth Ingram, had quite a serendipitous meeting. They met when Brown hired Ingram to decorate the three-bedroom industrial Georgia loft.
Their professional encounters soon turned to dates, and they got engaged in April 2020 — a month before the celebrity chef's loft decoration was over. In 2018, they officially tied the wedding knots in on a boat in Charleston, South Carolina.
The 58-year-old does not have any kids with his wife. But they have two pets, Scabigail and Francis.
With their pets and a YouTube show called Quarantine Quitchen, the couple seems to have their hands full.
The weekly series started as a one-off episode titled The Browns Make Dinner and featured Brown and Ingram cooking in their apartment during the lockdown. After the episode's success, the couple released new episodes every week on Brown's YouTube channel.
The duo celebrated the first anniversary of their show on March 16, 2021.
Divorced First Wife in 2015
Brown separated from his longtime wife, DeAnna Brown, in 2015, after 21 years of marriage.
In his September 2019 interview with PEOPLE, the Quarantine Quitchen creator opened up about the reason for their divorce. He mentioned that both of them had changed during their two-decade-long marriage. Also, he maintained the split was probably for the better as they were in a better place after the separation.
During their marriage, both of them devoted their faith to the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. The church had become a paramount presence in their life and had even attempted to keep them together despite their desire to separate.
After the split, Brown resigned from the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, citing that he was going through a hiatus regarding religion. "I don’t have any bad problems with God, but I have problems with religion, I’m on hiatus,” he said while talking to Yahoo Entertainment in 2019.
From his relationship with his first wife, Brown has a grown-up daughter named Zoey Brown.
Born on December 22, 2019, the 22-years-old went to Georgetown University.
Against Anti-Gay Stances
Brown took a break from his religion back in 2006. Time covered Brown's departure from the Southern Baptist Convention in a 2014 interview.
The TV personality told the magazine that he found it hard to align himself with the church's views on children's indoctrination and its anti-gay stance. Time also cited that Brown was in search of an alternative belief system.
