Erin Burnett Met Husband on Blind Date

The CNN anchor is married to her husband, David Rubulotta, a managing director at Citigroup.

The lovers met on a blind date in 2004 when Burnett was working as a stocks editor for Bloomberg. They continued their dating relationship for seven years and got engaged in 2011.

In December 2012, Burnett tied the knot with her partner. She wore a red wedding dress at her wedding that took place at City Hall in New York City. For her reception, she wore a gold, floor-length beaded gown by Carmen Marc Valvo couture.

According to People, she hired a classical guitarist to play Christmas carols and remarked on the holiday nuptial:

Christmas is our favorite time of year. We thought it would be the perfect time to get married.

Has Three Children with Partner

A year after their marriage, Burnett and her husband welcomed their first-born baby boy Nyle Thomas Burnett Rubulotta. He was born on November 29, 2013. Then they welcomed their second child, a daughter, named Colby Isabelle.

In August 2018, she gave birth to their third child, Owen Thomas Burnett Rubulotta.

When she was pregnant with Owen, Burnett even expressed her excitement to People, saying:

We are so excited for number three. As one of three myself, I think it’s a lucky number!.

Presently the family of five live together in New York.

She is the youngest daughter of Esther Margaret and Kenneth King Burnett. Her father was a corporate attorney.

The Erin Burnett OutFront show host attended St. Andrews High School. She graduated from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy.

The news anchor is best known for her current CNN show Erin Burnett OutFront. She is also the chief business and economics correspondent for CNN.

After graduation, she started her career as an investment banker for Goldman Sachs.

She got into journalism when she got offered a position at CNN as a writer and booker for CNN's Moneyline with Stuart Varney, Willow Bay, and Lou Dobbs.

She left the post to work for the digital media group Citigroup as its vice president. Later, she went onto join Bloomberg Television as the stock editor and anchor.

She then entered the CNBC News network in 2005 as the anchor of Squawk on the Street and the host of Street Signs.

After working for more than half a decade for CNBC, she left the news network and joined their rival news outlet CNN in 2011.

At CNN, she hosted her own reality news program Erin Burnett OutFront, a nightly news program that provides in-depth analysis of global headlines, interviews, and lively debates on the day's top issues.

She covered countless breaking news stories, including the Paris and Brussels terror attacks. She has reported from Iran, Afghanistan, Cuba, Israel, and across Africa and Asia throughout her career.

In 2017, Burnett had a swollen right eye when she appeared in a CNN show. She bent her head at extreme angles and used her hair to hide part of her face. But, millions of viewers watching the show noticed it.

After her appearance with the swollen eye, her viewers were concerned and reached out to her on social media. Many even commented she looked like she had been in a boxing match.
