One of the most popular American drag queens, Willam Belli, has always been very vocal about his sexual preferences and relationship status. The openly gay Belli married Bruce Bealke in September 2008, but in one of his 2019 YouTube videos, the drag queen revealed that they weren’t together anymore.

Belli Confirmed Separation from His Husband

The famous drag queen uploaded a video on his official YouTube channel in September 2019 titled “ASS-umptions w/ WILLAM.” The video was based on replying to his fans’ assumptions regarding his personal and professional life.

One assumption read, “That you’re happily married,” to which Belli instantly replied that he was separated from his husband Bealke and was currently single.

“I’m not anymore, I’m single and separated.”

However, he clarified little about the situation and immediately moved on to the next assumption. So, it is not yet known if the couple was just separated or divorced.

The revelation came as a shock to fans, and they were heartbroken. One of them commented, “Wait, what? He separated from his husband? Oh no... What happened? That’s so sad.” while the other said, “I didn’t know he wasn’t married anymore.” 

Belli was Married for a Decade

While the couple has been separated as of late 2019, they were married for just over ten years. Belli and Bealke exchanged their wedding vows on September 9, 2008, after being romantically involved for over six years.

Bealke is an entertainment lawyer and a software developer. He had always been known for his outgoing and extroverted personality, and few aspects of his life were hidden from the public.

Similarly, the drag queen was seen flaunting his ex-partner frequently on social media in the past. Whether it was teasing his husband or sharing a picture with their pet dog, he never shied away from showing love to his ex-spouse.

Was Belli Disqualified from ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Because of His Ex-Partner?

The relationship between the two garnered media attention after the Sex in the City actor was disqualified from the fourth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race 2009. It was the first time in the competition’s history that a contestant was disqualified for breaking the rules.

The fiery drag queen took to his official Twitter handle in June 2018 to reveal the real reason for the disqualification—a sexual liaison with a producer. Moreover, he said that the producers forced him to back up the lie by bringing his husband onto the show.

Belli refused the proposal, due to which the cameras cut to a random man in the audience to be referred to as Belli’s gay partner.
