Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae Young held an engagement party on Saturday, April 24, 2021. El Moussa popped the question while celebrating their one-year anniversary on July 25, 2020, and have been planning their wedding for some time now.

The couple was joined by close friends and family to celebrate the occasion. El Moussa’s children from his previous marriage, daughter Taylor Reese and son Brayden James also attended the party thrown by their dad and “bonus mom.”

El Moussa Ready For Marriage

El Moussa uploaded a video of him and Young sharing a loving moment together. He made a reference to his show Flip or Flop, captioning the video “Love of my life. Last night was perfect… you could say I’m ready to #flipherlastname”

Previously, on an episode of the podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat, Young had revealed that she would drop her last name to take her fiance’s. At the time, she hadn’t decided whether to go with Heather El Moussa or Heather Rae El Moussa.

Engagement

Although El Moussa and Young only celebrated their engagement recently, they had been engaged for quite a long time. The two first met in July 2019 when both of them were on a boat trip. They started dating shortly afterward and went Instagram official in August 2019.

The Flip or Flop star proposed to his girlfriend during a boating trip to Catalina Island on their one-year anniversary on July 25, 2020. People reported he popped the question at the Descanso Beach Club, and Young agreed immediately.

Young announced the engagement on her Instagram just a day later. She posted a picture of El Moussa putting a ring on her finger with the caption “The Future Mrs. Tarek El Moussa!!!!”

The engagement was covered on his show Flipping 101. It aired on HGTV on October 8, 2020, as the show’s finale.

The two have been planning their wedding but have shared little about it. They revealed they wouldn’t be holding the ceremony on Catalina Island and that Young had already selected a wedding gown by designer Galia Lahav.

El Moussa Was Previously Married

The Flipping 101 star was previously married to Flip or Flop co-star Christina El Moussa. They had tied the knot on April 17, 2009, and had welcomed their first child, daughter Taylor Reese, in September 2010.

Their show, Flip or Flop, premiered on HGTV in April 2013, and two years later, they welcomed their son, Brayden James, in August 2015.

El Moussa and Christina separated privately in May 2016 and went public with their decision in December. Their divorce was completed in January 2018. Just a few months later, Christina married Ant Anstead and changed her name to Christina Anstead.
