Sheridan Smith and Fiance Jamie Horn Decide on Co-parenting Their Kid after Break Up
Bafta-winning actress Sheridan Smith and her fiance Jamie Horn have decided to take a break from their relationship.
Although they did not state any reasons for their separation, they released a press statement on July 3 which read, "It is with great sadness that we have decided to have some time apart."
Were Smith and Horn Married?
Smith, 40, first met Horn, 30, through the dating app Tinder in early 2018. The couple dated for only a few months before they got engaged in May the same year.
Horn, an insurance broker, bought Smith a £10,000 ring and even introduced the star to his mother early on.
Reports at the time stated that the two were very serious about each other, and fans thought the couple was married when Smith posted a picture of the two of them wearing wedding rings.
However, Smith clarified that she was wearing a band in the picture; it wasn't her wedding ring. She even said she only called Horn "hubby" as a "nickname," and they, in fact, were not husband and wife.Â
Despite their awkward relationship status, Smith had no hesitations being with Horn. In November 2019, Smith announced she was pregnant, and on May 9, 2020, Smith gave birth to their firstborn kid, Billy. Â
A few months after delivering her child, Smith revealed she would love to have a second one on her documentary about her journey to motherhood, Sheridan Smith: Becoming Mum.Â
She also jokingly stated that Horn was dead-set on Billy becoming an Arsenal player in the future.
While Smith also spoke of the challenges of giving birth during the lockdown, overall, the documentary portrayed an intense, intimate connection between the pair and highlighted strong support from friends and family alike.
So where then did it all go wrong for the former couple?
Cryptic TweetsÂ
In May 2021, Smith left fans a cryptic message before deleting all her social media accounts. ‘Just had the most shocking news, don’t let people get you down. We are here for a short time people, please be kind x.’
Although it was unclear what these posts inferred at the time, sources now consider that she was foreshadowing her break-up with Horn.
Since then, Smith has deleted the post and reactivated her social media accounts.
On June 25, 2021, Smith posted a picture of just herself and her son on her 40th birthday. A week later, Smith would announce the end of her relationship with her fiance of three years, Horn.Â
Smith has kept her personal life and drama under wrap, using social-media only to tell her fans to afford her space and privacy.Â
